I quickly snapped out of my horrified trace when Macey let out a howl of laughter. Daniel's eyes went wide. "Holy smokes! My best friend is a bad ace! Who needs superman when you have a Jackman!"
I grabbed his hand and with Macey and Lily in tow, we jumped out the window as well. We ran towards the truck and bolted into it.
"HURRY UP JACKSON! DRIVE! DRIVE AS IF THE COPS WERE CHASING US AND WE WERE POSSIBLY GOING TO JAIL!" I screamed at him as I heard the sirens from the distance.
With squealing tires we left a trail of burnt rubber in our wake as we sped off. "Love, I hate to break it to you, but your yelling was useless considering that all that you were yelling is true!" Jackson yelled as we sped away from IHop.
"Oh... yeah.. right.." I said quietly. A second later the panic reappeared. "Jackson! What if someone wrote down the license plate?!" I yelled in panic. If someone had managed to write down the license plate number that means they can easily track us.
Jackson didn't hesitate to say, "Love, they know our names and faces. They already know my license plate number. Which is why I changed it under an alias, and put a cover over it. It's kinda like putting tint on the windows. Nobody can copy it down unless they're standing right in front of it."
"Holy Hades! You really are a cop." I said in awe.
He chuckled. "As far as my badge says I am."
"I told you that we should have changed our appearances first!" I tell Jackson.
"Don't worry about that Love. I have a friend who owns a beauty salon. Thankfully it's not far from here. She owes me a favor. I promise that by tomorrow morning your light brown hair will be blonde, and your curls will be even more beautiful than they already are."
I blushed a deep shade of red. "Whatever." I mumbled.
The rest of the trip was spent in silence. Thankfully the police was too far away to actually pursuit us. Daniel didn't last ten minutes before he started to complain about how hungry he was. We would have let it slide but Lily was starting to become fussy at how hungry she was. We stopped at a gas station and Jackson brought everybody a slice of pizza, a soda, and a bag of chips.
Afterwards the angels fell asleep. Smiling slightly I lowered down the volume of the radio.
"Jackson?"
He glanced at me. "Yes, Love?"
"What are we doing? I know that we're going to change our appearances and live in a cottage, but for how long? Until we're caught? or until we run out of money?" I asked.
He sighed. "I'm not completely sure Love. I have a separate bank account, that is also under an alias. The money should last us a while."
