Chapter 12

It was difficult, but we finally managed to give our lips a break from each other. He's just so addicting and I can't get enough of him. He's in the bathroom taking a shower so I have some time to myself. I'm finally dating my best friend and it doesn't feel any different or weird at all. It feels like everything has finally fallen into place and I'm right where I'm supposed to be. I wonder what our friends are going to say when we tell them tomorrow. I know Sarah will be happy because she seen this coming way before I could even admit it to myself. I assume that Pope is over me now, but you just never know. I don't want him to feel like we're flaunting our relationship in his face. He's my best friend and I don't want to hurt his feelings at all. JJ might have to tone down on the PDA a little bit to give Pope some time to warm up to us... at least until I've had the chance to talk to him and see how he's feeling about everything.

A little while later, I hear the door open and see JJ walk out shirtless in some shorts he left over here the last time few times he slept over. I shamelessly admire him and couldn't be happier that I finally get to call him mine. He lays on the bed beside me and wraps his arm around me. "Should we be worried about Pope?" I suddenly ask him.

"I don't think so, he seems really into that Cleo girl."

"I just don't want to hurt his feelings or for him to feel like we're flaunting our relationship in his face."

"I think he'll be happy for us."

"I hope so. I'm really happy we're together now and don't want anything to mess this up." I say turning in his arms to face him.

"I think we should throw a party at the Boneyard. I'm in the celebrating mood." he says smiling down at me.

"That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'm always up for a good party."

"I'll have to tell John B to buy a shit ton of beer. Those fake ID's always come in handy."

"I know parties at the Boneyard is where everyone comes together but if I see that bitch Ashley, I can't be held responsible for what I do to her."

"You're sexy when your jealous princess, but you have nothing to worry about. She's nobody. You'll be too busy with me all night to even notice she's there."

"As long she doesn't try to flirt with you, I'll keep my hands to myself."

He kisses me so fiercely it takes my breath away, "You're the only girl I have eyes for. No one compares to you."

"I love you J," I say without thinking, "I know it's super soon and you might not be there yet but-"

"I love you too, Kie. I've loved you for a while now."

"Really?"

"Yeah." he says smiling

I kiss him. "Let's get some sleep. We have a party tomorrow to prepare for." We both get under the covers and I reach over to turn the lamp off. I turn on my side facing away from him and he wraps his arm around me pulling me close to him.

"Goodnight princess." I hear before I fall asleep.

Thankfully we woke up before my parents the next morning. We parted ways with the promise of meeting up later. I got in the shower feeling better than I've ever felt as of late. This smile was becoming a permanent fixture on my face. I changed into some shorts and a crop top after my shower and put my hair in a bun. Soon after, I walked downstairs to make me a bagel. Just as I was spreading the cream cheese, I hear someone come into the kitchen. A glance to my right reveals my mom opening the fridge, grabbing some orange juice. I go back to my task and try to avoid speaking to her.
