I hate suffer. I hate demise. I hate agony

*Thump!*
A boy, named Hiro, one day heard something fall onto the roof of his house. He went outside to his parent's shed and grabbed a ladder out. Using the ladder, he climbed up to the roof, to see what had fallen. On his roof, he found a golden mask. The mask depicted the face of a man happily laughing. But as he studied the mask, around its edges, many small, insect-like appendages popped out.
" Hey, Saki..." A girl turned around and saw her friend, Hiro, standing behind her.
" Wanna come over to my house? I found something cool." Hiro asked.
" What's this cool thing?" Saki prodded.
" Well, I don't know what it is, but-" As Hiro was trying to speak, another boy ran up to the two, loudly screaming across the classroom for their attention.
" Hey! Saki and Hiro!" The boy loudly screamed. As the boy ran over, the teacher shot him a glare, which quieted him down.
" What is it, Kai?" Saki asked as he ran over.
" Nothing! Just wanted to know what you guys were talking about!" Kai chuckled.
" Hiro was just saying that he found something cool." Saki shared.
" Oh really? What is it? Tell me, tell me!" Kai annoyingly chimed.
" Well..."
The three were now in Hiro's room, looking down at something in a cardboard box.
" What...is it?" Saki asked. In the box, a golden mask scuttered around back and forth, using insect-like appendages.
" I don't know," Hiro answered. Kai then tried to reach into the box to grab it, but Saki quickly grabbed his hand.
" Don't!" Saki cautiously warned.
" Why?" Kai groaned.
" What if it's dangerous?" Saki said.
" Yeah, I don't think you should touch it. It cut my finger when I was trying to get it into the box." Hiro added. The three then went back to silently watching it.
" What are you going to do with it?" Kai asked, breaking the silence.
" I don't know..." Hiro answered. The three then heard Hiro's mom call for them from downstairs.
" Hey, you guys! I made pizza pouches! Come down if you want some!" Hiro's mom shouted at them from the floor below. Hearing this, the three ran out of Hiro's bedroom, but before he left, Hiro went back and covered the cardboard box the golden mask was in. Soon after, Kai and Saki left Hiro's house and went back home. When Hiro returned to his room, he checked the box the mask was in. It was still there. Hiro then went and played some games, completely forgetting about the golden mask in the box. When night crept in, it was time for Hiro to get to bed. He turned off his console and went to the restroom to brush his teeth. Little did he know, the golden mask had escaped from its box.
And during his sleep, the golden mask had managed to crawl onto his face.
*Tap!* *Tap!* *Tap!*
Saki awoke to the sound of tapping on her window. As she lethargically got up out of bed, she glanced at the clock that rested on her dresser. It read 7:22 AM. Confused, she walked over to her window and peeked out the curtains. Tapping on her window, she saw a boy wearing a familiar golden mask. Saki then realized who it was.
