A different world

We were sitting on the stairs, listening to the neighbors and watching the kids play. She was sitting one staircase lower than me. Even though the door was closed,  our parent's screams can be heard through them. we were accustomed to their arguments like they were something necessary. They were no longer aggressive screams but more like forms of conversation.

"I know that everyone sees the world differently, we all have formed this type of lens that was created by inevitable circumstances. " she paused and said

"I wonder how the little kids playing see the world. They're still so young we might be able to alter their lens" 

"We might..." I agreed and really believed so.
