6: An Irritating Thorn

Ezra grabbed her arm and gently guided her out of the kitchen. Annalise only stared at them, thinking of what to make upon the recent situation. Lucinde let out a giggle at Ezra's actions and said, "Oh, are you so eager for it?"

Ezra immediately started shaking his head in denial while nervously saying, "N-No. That's not it. I think we should get you to the pack doctor. We need to get you checked if there's anything wrong."

"H-Huh. Pack doctor? I'm perfectly fine," Lucinde replied as she let herself get pulled out of the kitchen and into the hallway. She was a bit surprised upon seeing the audience that gathered outside of the kitchen. Their eyes were staring at her as if they were witnessing an abnormal occasion.

"She has gone crazy," one of the people surrounding them whisper to the another. Murmurs of her strange behavior and bold statements circulated the whole hallway. Lucinde merely ignored it and focused her attention to Ezra.

As her eyes examined Ezra's behavior, she couldn't help but smile. He was blushing as he guided her towards the direction where the pack doctor might be. She found it adorable that he was trying not to look straight into her eyes out of embarrassment. The more she stared at him, the more Ezra's face turn red.

Noticing that he was starting to feel uneasy about it, she simply rest her eyes on other things. As much as she would like to see his adorable face, she didn't want to be an asshole who doesn't give a crap about someone else's feelings regarding the matter. It was definitely a situation that any person would feel ashamed of. Turning her eyes towards her left, she found herself looking at a particular individual that screams trouble.

Alpha Kent.

Based from her knowledge regarding his appearance from the novel, it resembled him. Black hair and amber eyes. Muscular body type. The typical werewolf male leads of a werewolf novel. There was this indistinguishable feature that made him distinct from the other characters. It was the scar on the left side of his face. The reason behind this was left unclear by the writer.

Lucinde only gave him a slight glimpse before turning her attention to Ezra. Although she's not against muscular and masculine type of guys, she prefers those like Ezra. Glancing at Ezra's physical features, she couldn't help but want to just stare at him all day and daydream.

Before they could even get any further, they were stopped by a particular alpha clearing his throat.

"You. What is going on here? Care to tell me the details as to why there's been an commotion disturbing this place?"

His voice brought silence to the whole house as Ezra and Lucinde slowly faced him. Ezra's eyes widened as he bowed his head in respect. Lucinde nervously copied Ezra's actions as she thought of how she should act.

She was freaking out inside her mind as she realized the awkward situation they were in. The antagonist Lucinde had sexual intercourse with Alpha Kent after all. And now, Ezra, the mate of Lucinde, is meeting that alpha who had sex with his mate. That's definitely a very unpleasant situation.

"Alpha, the situation is being handled. It is all merely personal matters. My apologies for the commotion," Ezra answered Alpha Kent's question. His eyes avoiding his gaze.

Upon hearing him speak, Lucinde let out a sigh of relief. She was glad that she didn't have to talk to this person. However, this celebration of relief was crushed when Alpha Kent replied with a mocking tone.

"Oh. Is that so? I'm curious as to why the two of you are together. Lucinde did tell me a while ago that she did not get along with you."
