Prologue

"I love you, Y/N. I...I've loved you for a while now."

"One day, we'll get married, and we'll both have great jobs, and we'll live in this big ass house that we'll fill with babies of our own. And we'll have a cow and goats. It'll be perfect."

"You're pregnant? Are you...sure?"

"Mom, please stop. I love Y/N, and she and I are gonna be parents. You're gonna have to learn to accept that."

"I didn't necessarily choose you. I didn't get a choice in this. Neither of us did. It wasn't a conscious choice. It just happened. But I did fall for you. Slow at first. Without knowing it. Then, one day, it was sudden. Fast and hard, I fell for you. All at once, and I keep falling for you. And I'll keep falling for you. I'll keep choosing you. Always."

"Ignore what they say. People talk because they have nothing better to do, my mom included."

"So, does it feel weird? Ya know...being pregnant? Knowing you're making a person right now? I couldn't even imagine. Like, it's amazing, but kinda freaky."

"Look what I found! It's a birthing video. Maybe we should watch it to prepare ourselves?"

"Oh, my God! It stretches that much? Oh, my...Y/N, I am so sorry. When you go into labor, feel free to squeeze my hand as hard as you need to. God...I can't believe I'm partly responsible for what you're going to go through. I am so sorry, babe."

"Whoa. It's like an alien. Is it weird to feel her move around like that?"

"Mom, you know once you see your granddaughter, you're gonna be all smiles. Besides, you love babies."

"Hey, whoa. Watch out for the pregnant lady. She's carrying precious cargo."

"Do I ever worry about if we'll be together forever? Hmm. No, not really. I mean, I don't believe in destiny or anything like that, but sometimes I think what we have is pretty damn close. I mean, I know it won't be easy. We're only seventeen, but... I don't know. I'm not worried about it. We'll figure it out as we go. Ya know? For now, we just gotta ride the wave."

"Hey. Stop. Don't fucking touch her. You don't touch a woman like that, especially a pregnant one."

"Ha. If you think I'm a mess, then you should see the other guy."

"We should start thinking of names? Don't want peanut to be Peanut all her life."

"You're gonna be a great mom, Y/N. I know it. You aren't your parents."

"I like the name Rui."

I wish I knew then what I know now. I wish I knew what would happen that night. I wish I could have told you not to go, but you did, and there's nothing I can do to change that. It happened. It did. You went, and now you're gone. But I know you're still here. So, please...please stay with her until they bring her home.
