Familiar (Season 15: Crystalized)

Spoilers ahead, don't go ahead if you haven't seen crystalized yet.

Ladies and gentlemen and nonbinary pals, I got so many ideas just from 12 episodes of the season.

So, why not write one of them.

Angst and then Fluff.

Familiar

It was all too familiar.

Losing Nya for a whole year took a toll on him, emotionless and going crazy. He himself knew that he was going crazy in that wrecked old lighthouse that was all too familiar, yet he didn't try to stop himself.

When the others came to him for the search of the Vengestone Buyer, he didn't want to deal with it. Nothing else could make him feel whole again. Nobody could other than her.

And yet, he agreed. Because of something the citizens of Ninjago City did on the day of her... disappearance. And then Lloyd came. It seemed as if it was going uphill. Which it was for a little while.

And if he had known that Nya had come to him just a few minutes later, he would've stayed there.

Everything was nice when Nya came to them for help. He felt a little guilty trying to fight Kai, but in his defense, he was not in the right place of mind.

Everything came crashing down.

Arrested, made public enemy 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 was a very familiar feeling of a memory that haunted him for years.

And then, the messenger of the crystal king came yapping about some villain things, Kai thought that it was all a little bit unoriginal.

Yet it kept him up all night. What did the person with the kabuki mask mean by all of your enemies? Did that mean he could also be back...

No, nobody remembered that other than him and Nya.

He didn't sleep. He thought about it the whole night. He was already half-crazy because of the turning of Nya but now he was sleep-deprived already not sleeping for nights.

When Nya and Dareth rescued them, it was a breath of fresh air. Already knowing Nya was still alright was a nice feeling in and of itself.

When they escaped going to the mechanic, he was anxious. He knew something was going to go wrong, yet he didn't say anything. They wouldn't listen to him, not in a million years.

And when Lloyd disappeared, he felt powerless to do something. It was all too familiar. Are all of them going to disappear one by one again? He wouldn't like to do that.

IT WAS ALL TOO FAMILIAR.

Nya's Interlude:

The day she saw him again was the best feeling she felt for the longest time.

She can't really remember what happened while she was one with the sea, but she always knew she missed something or someone.

And now he was in arms reach but something had already gone in between them once again. They really can't be happy for once, can they?

And then she wasn't allowed to visit him in prison. It was a half-assed excuse they gave her. She wasn't allowed to visit because she would find something to rescue them, which was half-true but still. Now she needed a way to rescue them without going into Kryptarium.

Then, she rescued them. With her brand new mech and with the distraction of Dareth it was easier than she thought. But it wasn't time for a reunion, not yet.

Then they disappeared. She was very worried. She knew from Dareth that they had gone to get the mechanic and go and search for the new villain named the crystal king.

There they were. They came into the monasteries' underground base with the new ninja suits that PIXAL had made for them.

PIXAL, Nya, Wu, and Skylor noticed that Lloyd wasn't there and by the expression on their faces, they could guess that something was wrong.

Apparently, Lloyd was captured and they couldn't track him, so PIXAL the absolute girlboss she is said that she will have a tracking system done in about a day.

All of them had gone up except for two, Nya and Jay. The others had agreed to give them some time alone.

So, they there were standing face to face.

Nya looked beautiful in Jay's personal opinion, not like that was a surprise, she was always beautiful. So, seeing all the little details of her face, eyes, mouth slowly curving upwards and the mole on her cheek, made him feel whole.

Jay looked horrible.

Not in the way of horrible looking, quite the opposite. He still looked the same with a little bit of stubble instead of the beard she's seen in the painting.

He looked horrible in the way of health. Eyes an irritating red, bags under his eyes, hollow cheeks, more prominent cheekbones, and noticeably skinnier.

And the look in his eyes told her everything.

So, she opened her arms to him.

He ran into them even leaning down to bury his face in her shoulder.

She felt her shirt get wet. She patted his back and said nothing. Just hugged him while he wept all his pain away. She didn't have a problem with it, she understood.

Through all the tears, he said in a quiet tone:

"I love you."

And for the second time and the only audible time in her life, she said it back.

"I love you too."

She pulled back from the hug, placed a hand on his cheek, and kissed him as if her life depended on it.

Yin and Yang were reunited.

So how was it?

This oneshot just came to me as I watched the prison episode.
