The first table reading came and went by so fast and suddenly two months had passed and Izumi had been knee-deep in rehearsals and practices. She, Donghyuck and Renjun had grown extremely close in the past two months. So close that Izumi had invited the two of them to her, Jaemin and Giselle's lunch time.
Jaemin and Giselle were fond of Donghyuck and Renjun as well. Especially since they knew that Izumi liked them. Jaemin was a bit cautious of Donghyuck, since his loud and extrovert nature was a bit too much for the introverted volleyball player.
But Jaemin was happy that Izumi had friends in her drama class as well. And they seemed to treat her well, so he wasn't worried about Izumi's new friends.
Giselle was completely smitten for Renjun. Every time she saw him, she complimented him on his outfit choice and gave him tips to look even more handsome. Giselle had fallen head over heels for the fairy aesthetic Renjun was oozing off.
It was a warm day in May and the five of them just finished lunch. Jaemin bid his goodbyes to walk to volleyball practice, Giselle had classes so Izumi, Renjun and Donghyuck walked to the auditorium.
Izumi was bouncing through the hallway, happily humming, while holding the straps of her black backpack. Donghyuck grinned, walking past her, while Renjun continued to tell the two of them about an audition for a local theatre.
As Izumi was bouncing, she didn't really register the people around her, causing her to bump into a woman. The woman dropped her belongings and glared angrily at Izumi. Izumi immediately bend down to help her pick up her stuff.
"I'm so sorry" Izumi started, "I wasn't looking where I was going." She bowed and the woman in front of her sighed in annoyance. "I could tell" she rolled her eyes, "this is a college and not a elementary school—" the woman started when she saw Donghyuck and Renjun walk up to Izumi to see if she was alright.
"Izumi, you good?" Donghyuck asked, when his eyes moved over to the young woman. A sigh left his lips as he recognized her. Even thought it had been two months since Donghyuck had officially let go of Jieon, it was still very tough seeing her.
"I'm fine" Izumi answered, not realizing the atmosphere between the two young adults next to her. Jieon was the first to break out of her daze and look at Izumi. She had a frustrated look on her face. Something Donghyuck couldn't read, but it annoyed her that Jieon looked at Izumi like this.
He carefully held onto the fabric of Izumi's sleeve and gently pushed her behind his back. Jieon watched him and pressed her lips together. "It's good to see you again" Jieon whispered and Izumi gulped, looking at the back of Donghyuck's head.
She didn't know the woman in front of her, but she could feel that it was stressing Donghyuck. She had watched the boy tentatively for the past two months and recognized when he was feeling distressed or annoyed.
