I know I shouldn't have been interested at you
But like the cassette tapes you have
I want to keep playing it over and over again
You have lit the fire of my interest
I am now aware of the guitar you play
The man bun you always style your hair
The music player you always bring along
The type of guy I like
The universe conspired against me
Why are you getting closer?
Your eyeglass flashing the blurry images I see
Your curly hair loosely tied
Your unfathomable thoughts
Not the most handsome guy I saw but like I said
You have lit the fire of my interest
You are interesting enough to put me on flame
It's not your face that drew me on this phase
It's the cassette tape on your hip
It's the strumming of chords on your pink guitar
It's your curly f-cking man bun
I am uninterested at people
But you gave me the benefit of a doubt on my own words
You are an old soul
I want to know
You are a vintage
I want to keep
You have lit the fire of this normal girl's interest
Still, I'll just look at you from a distance
Because I am not your kind of girl
I write poems and prose
Novels and books on my nose
Earphones and silence
Average and subjective
I know this will pass
Just like the first few ones
You will leave
And I'll be forgotten
So for now, let me stay on this zone
You are interesting
But it's not enough
To give a heart
Vulnerable
I can't trust my observations
But you are interesting
You can be a subject to my poem
YOU ARE READING
