If there was something nice about having a club as your little hideout, it was that you can get all kinds of liquor for your private new year party. But even so, Yoohan eyed the assortment of bottles with annoyance."What use is it having them lined up like that if I'm not allowed to drink them?" he pouted, staring dagger at chuckling Jay.
"I didn't say you can't drink them. I said you can only drink one. Just pick one for now."
"Ugh, whatever. What's the difference anyway?" it wasn't like Yoohan had tried any of them before. "I'm starting to regret this. I can drink to my heart's content with someone else."
"No you can't," Jay smiled coldly, picked one bottle, and poured the content into two shot glasses. "The moment you do so, I'll come and whisk you right away."
Yoohan rolled his eyes. It was rather scary actually, since Jay was very likely on doing exactly that. He took the glass begrudgingly, knowing that it would be the only glass Jay allowed him to drink tonight—or today. It was past midnight already. He sipped on it for a bit, and blinked.
"Ouh." that punched harder than the soju.
He glanced at Jay that smirked beside him. "Just a taste tonight."
Yoohan pursed his lips, still peeved, but suddenly also felt funny. He stared at the rows of bottles and laughed.
"What?"
"It's just..." Yoohan looked around the room and laughed again. "To think that this place finally felt like a club." He'd been frequenting the place during his middle school days, and then these past few months. During all those times, he never saw a drop of alcohol in this room despite being situated in a club. It just dawned on him right now while looking at the alcohol in front of him that this place, essentially, was a club.
Unexpectedly, Jay was laughing too. Perhaps because he used the room for an office, Jay also never drink in this room.
"Well, but don't think we'll do this here again in the future."
"What? Why?"
"If you want to drink, just do it at my house. Don't go around drinking and being drunk in front of other people."
Yoohan pouted. "Then what about tonight? It's just you here. Isn't tonight supposed to be a celebration for me? Huh? Huh?"
Jay touched Yoohan's frown again, massaging it while chuckling. "Must you get drunk to celebrate something?"
"But—"
"Rather than that, tell me how you feel."
Yoohan titled his head, confused. Jay smiled and continued his question. "You're an adult now. You scored well on cSAT. You get scholarship admission. You achieved something that not even someone with a normal household could achieve easily. Can you say that you lived well now?"
Yoohan blinked, contemplating.
"Isn't this mean your revenge goes well?" Jay smiled, brushing Yoohan's fringes. "So, how does it feel?"
"How does it feel?" Yoohan looked at Jay, who smiled languidly with one elbow prompt at the backrest. Looking at him like this, with his hair down, in a jeans and black shirt, Yoohan was reminded of the time they just met—how many years ago was that? And he suddenly felt light and happy. So he couldn't help the smile that blissfully bloomed on his face. "The best!"
Thump.
Jay felt like his heart stopped at that moment. That smile was like a curse that bound his body into a temporary frozen state. His mind goes haywire as desire took hold of his reason. In an instant, Jay's hand had moved to grab Yoohan's nape and pulled him into a kiss.
