Chapter 4

Xavier

The sunlight blinded my eyes as I tried to open them. Nasaan nga ulit ako? Ah, oo nga pala. Nasa amusement park kami ngayon. Ito ba naman kasi si Serene, pinilit akong sumama sa kanila ni Morrie dahil daw kailangan nilang magpanggap na nagkikita naman paminsan-minsan. Ano ba naman ang gagawin ko kasama sila? Magmumukha lang akong alalay kapag silang dalawa ang kasama ko.

Unti-unting umakyat ang roller coster na sinasakyan namin. Sa sobrang boring, nakatulog na ako habang nakasakay. Napatingin naman ako kay Serene at Morrie na nasa harapan ko. Tili nang tili si Serene kahit hindi pa naman kami bumababa.

Hay naku...

Kung hindi lang ako pinilit ni Serene, sana kasama ko ngayon ang iba sa paghahanap sa 5th Sense. Seine, Mr. Villanueva, Ms. Minerva, Marcus and Zero was out there, searching for the last Sense. Yet here I am, forced to watch Serene and Morrie.

"Xavier, make hurry nga!" tawag niya sa akin. "We're gonna pila over there for the popcorn."

Oh well, seeing them happy as they are now might just be okay for me. Tumalon-talon si Serene habang papunta sa popcorn stand. Seriously, is she a kid?

Napatingin naman ako sa paligid namin. Ang init... Sobrang dami rin ng tao. Bakit ba dito pa nilang pumili na pumunta. Naramdaman ko na nasa gilid ko na si Morrie.

"Enjoying it so far?" tanong niya.

"Enjoy my ass. Mukha akong muchacho na sumusunod sa mga mayayaman niyang amo." I blew my hair away from my damp forehead. "Bakit ba kasi dito tayo pumunta? Frequent date spot mo ba ito?"

Napatawa naman si Morrie sa sinabi ko. "Hindi. To be honest, I have never brought a girl to anamusement park. Palaging nasa restaurant o kaya hotel."

"Huh? Bakit sa hotel?... Oh..."

I was saved from an awkward comversation by Serene who was running towards us with popcorn. Well, I did volunteer to buy but she said that she wanted buy it herself as part of the experience.

"Like oh my gosh talaga guys. There's like a mahaba pila there," sabi ni Serene sabay turo sa tindahan.

"That's quite amazing though. Parang alam mo na ang pasikot-sikot dito sa park," sabi ko.

"That's what's weird nga eh. I feel like I've been here before na." She made an 'oh my gosh' face. "What if I was like the haciendera of this lupa in my past life or maybe I visited this place before with like the love of my life."

Umiling nalang ako sa sinabi niya at napatawa naman si Morrie. Kahit kailan talaga, ang lakas makatawid ng imahinasyon ni Serene sa ibang mundo.

Serene pouted when she saw our reactions. "You're teasing me."

"Let's move on with our tour," Morrie suggested.

As the two of them walked ahead. I glanced at Serene. She was still wearing her contact lenses, the one that covers her golden eyes. The question was why. It's not like she's cursed because a Sense can't get cursed.

"Xavier! You're nahuhuli na!"

I shook my head to get rid of these thoughts. Just as I was about to walk towards them. I thought I saw a familiar red ribbon fluttering in the air. When I blinked, it was gone.

Namamalikmata lang ba ako?

After the roller coastee ride, we went to the theater inside the amusement park. That's what the popcorn was for. With the almost pitch black surroundings, we focused on the movie. Morrie and Serene had adjoining seats while I offered to sit behind them.

Baka may magtaka kung bakit mas ginusto ko na sa likuran nila umupo. Gusto ko kasing matulog na hindi inaabala. Siguradong gigisingin ako ni Serene kapag magkatabi kami. Not to mention that the movie was a love story. Ugh, talk about cheesy.
