✨Venti✨

(Warning: spoilers for anyone who hasn't met venti yet in the storyline)

Today is boring. It's always boring without Venti around. He's the chocolate to my ice cream sunday, honestly. All I had planned today was to go do my commissions for the adventurer's guild, meet with the traveler at Good Hunter for some food, and run some errands for the people in and around Monstadt. I haven't seen Venti in a while, and it was bugging me a lot. Where was he..? Is what I've been wondering for a while now.

I decided to go take a walk to the giant tree near Monstadt because I know that's where he usually hangs out. It takes a bit of time to get over there, but finally, I reach my destination. I climb up the tree and pick the nearest branch to sit on.

Monstadt really is beautiful.. I thought as I looked out over the grassy fields filled with flowers, some slimes, and trees. Most if which were hydro slimes and those annoying dendro slimes. I hate them because they keep hiding in the ground like scaredy-cats. They recognize my power at least. I thought with a smirk on my face.

Suddenly, the wind started picking up a bit, and I had to tighten up my grip on the branch as it got stronger. Then, I felt a small poke on my shoulder and a giggle that I obviously recognized.

"Ehe, hello m'lady!"
Venti floated over to my side and sat next to me.

"Hey Venti."
I said kind of unenthusiastically because I was kind if tired of his sudden disappearing acts.

"Okay uhhh before you ask where I've been these past few days.. promise you won't get mad?" He gave me big puppy dog eyes. Ugh.. it was always hard to get mad at him. He's so cute afterall!

"Alright, alright. I think I can already assume the reason though." I replied.

"Right so uh.. I've mostly been in the tavern! Drinking my favorite wine, of course, and singing to the customers!"

"Uh huh. Yep. Of course you were drunk. Y'know, you really need to find a better coping mechanism. Just because your a literal god didn't mean you can just down wine like it's your only life source!"

"Okay okay.. but no promises!"
He says playfully. I sigh internally. This bard.. I thought.

"Well, I'm glad your here now. I was so bored without you around! Such a flavorless week!" I complain, and sigh again except physically this time.

"Eheh! Well now you do have me! Sooooo.. what shall we do my lady?" Venti says cheerfully. I always like it when he calls me "my lady." It's a nice nickname. Better than what anyone else calls me at least.

"Hmm... can we just watch the sky on the ledge of starsnatch cliff like usual? And when the stars come out, we can look up at them and admire them like we always do." I say kind of shyly because it does sound kinda corny.

"Okie dokie! Let's go y/n~!."

Then we head over to starsnatch cliff.

It's nice and windy when we get to starsnatch cliff. Although, it is a little annoying since it messes up my amazing hair! But besides that, it's nice. Venti and me get to the edge of the cliff and sit down.

"Hey y/n! I brought my lyre, so would you like to hear some music?"

"Yeah, sure. That sounds nice." I reply agreeing.

Out of all the bards in Monstadt, Venti is definitely the best. I've never heard of anyone who can "out-lyre" him. And I don't think it's because he's a god, but because of all the hard work he put in to learn how to play it so well. Plus, natural talent I assume.

For a moment, both our eyes rip away from the sky and we gaze into each other's eyes. Venti's eyes are so beautiful. They're such a lush, gorgeous green. We stare for a couple for seconds, until I come back to reality and realize we are *much* closer to each other than we were before. My eyes widen a bit and I turn to look back up in the endless void that is the light blue sky. Venti just continues playing like nothing much happened.

I also realize I've definitely turned a bit red. My face is hotter than it was before, and I doubt it was because of the summer sun.

As the day reaches its end, and night starts to take over, the glowing stars are starting to become visible. Venti shines even brighter than all those stars out there... I absent-mindedly thought. A couple more hours pass by as me and Venti talk about anything we can to avoid it being completely and awkwardly silent.

Then, it's finally dark enough to see all the shiny, flickering stars in the sky. We both lay on our backs, tired from talking for so long, and finally let silence take over for a few mintues. Although, it's not as awkward as I thought it would be. It was a comforting silence. Seeing the all the wonderful stars in the sky, Venti right beside me witnessing this too, and the cool night air giving me chills.

This is the best day ever. I thought.
Then, all of the sudden, Venti rolled over on his side to face me and said, "Hey, y/n."

"Hm? What is it Venti." I softly said back.

"Your my favorite person y'know."

"Heheh. Thanks. I think you're my favorite too." I replied back.

"Huh! You think? I'm hurt y/n." Venti says with a huff, but I know he's just kidding around.

....

"Y/n."

"Yep?"

....

"I like you."

"W-what?" I sat up. And a bit too quickly at that, because I got a little dizzy. As soon as I got my composure back, I asked him again.

"Venti wha-what do you mean?."

"Eheheh! I saaaiiiddd, I like you m'lady!"

Not being able to muster up a response, I did the only thing I could do besides sit there blushing and dumbfounded. I kissed him. I could tell Venti was a bit surprised by this, but he accepted it anyway. It was quick, but I was still blushing like crazy and I thought I was really gonna burst open.

"Well.. there. You have your answer, heheh." I said to him.

"Huh. An odd way of answering, but I suppose it's not the worst!"

"Oh shut up!" I said and playfully punched him in the arm. "And don't you dare go around playing love songs about you and me, okay?"

"Okay okay.. but no promises! Ehe~!"
