Y/N's POV -

Once I opened my eyes, my head was in a throbbing pain. The happenings of last night were unclear, but one by one it all came back. I looked beside me and saw Carol in her slumber.

I let out a deep sigh and shook my head in agony, along with that, my body was so sore.

My thoughts might've been too loud since Carol started to shift in bed. I stared at her and tried to register what this means for us.

I caressed her face, cupping her cheeks as she was in her peaceful state.

"So pretty..." I whispered as I gazed at her.

Slowly, her eyes opened, revealing her beautiful brown eyes (I know her eyes are blue in the comics, but let's imagine Brie's eyes).

"Good morning." I smiled at her once she was fully conscious.

"Hi..." She mumbled, smiling cheekily.

"How are you feeling ?" She asked, sitting up.

"Sore." I glared at her. She laughed, "Sorry ?"

She pulled me into cuddle her as we sat in bed, not saying a word. I've missed this, the slow mornings, her smile, her laugh, her presence.

I've missed her, I've missed her being clingy, her lovely face, I've missed just being with her.

----------

They were back, their joy and love filled their home. Thankfully, they put their past behind them.

People noticed the change.

The empty vases were filled with the bouquets they gifted each other. Their neighbor was happy to see them again and continued her rambling, which Carol and Y/N gladly listened to.

Their company was blooming inside and out. Jane and Maria were glad to see them in love again.

"Does this mean that we can throw you two your 10th anniversary party ?" Jane asked happily with Maria beside her.

Y/N laughed at their excitement, and glanced at Carol, seeing that she was agreeing.

With a nod, Y/N gave them their approval.

"You won't regret this, we promise." Maria assured, leaving Y/N's office along with Jane.

"They seem to be even more excited than us. Our anniversary isn't until a few weeks." Carol said, sitting on the couch.

Y/N laughed, agreeing with her, but at least they had assistants who supported them with everything.

"Yes... but we didn't celebrate our 9th, so let them go all out with this one." Y/N said, moving towards Carol.

"Ten years, that's a long time." Carol smiled.

"Yes, it is... but there will be another ten... then another ten... and another ten. You sure you can live with me for that long ?" Y/N smirked, straddling Carol's lap as she wrapped her hands around her neck.

"I'll spend my whole lifetime with you, Y/N Danvers." Carol cupped her cheek.

Y/N's eyes teared up, realizing how lucky she was to have this woman as her wife.

Y/N was and is Carol's world, seeing her tear up made Carol's heart flutter.

"I love you..." Y/N whispered, placing a soft kiss on Carol's lips.

"I love you more..." Carol wiped her tears.

That phrase... that phrase hasn't been said by them for quite a while, but does it still have its meaning ?
