Playdate with Fate (A Chris & Keith AU)

New Bestie Alert

Months since studying in the school Keith transferred to, Keith started getting to know other students from outside his class.

One day, Keith went to the school's cafeteria to eat lunch. As he was given a serving of the food offered that day, he looked for an unoccupied table. When he found one, he made his way to the table and sat down on the chair provided at the table.

Just as he was about to start eating, Chris immediately rushed to the table where Keith was eating at.

The moment Chris sat down in front of Keith, he smiled and said, "Hey, honey." Keith smiled back before proceeding to take a bite of his food. After swallowing, Chris asked, "How are you?" Keith replied, "I'm doing great, thanks for asking."

Chris smiled.

Keith then asked back, "How are you doing?" Chris replied, "Well, I'm waiting for some friend of mine. She had to use the restroom." Keith got curious, so he asked, "Who's this friend of yours, then?" Chris said, "Oh, honey... You'll love to meet her."

As Keith continued eating, an Asian girl entered the cafeteria and seemed to be looking for Chris.

Once she found Chris, she waved at him and said, "Hey, miss ma'am!" Chris stood up and gave her a high-five. While the girl and Chris were talking, Keith watched them while continuing to eat. Both of them sat down a couple of minutes later.

Afterwards, the girl waved at Keith.

She then said, "I've been hearing about you ever since you accidentally bumped on Chris that day." Keith chuckled awkwardly and replied, "Oh, um... I didn't know Chris told you about it." The girl laughed and told him, "Chris is my bestie. Hello?"

Keith smiled awkwardly after that.

The girl then brought out her hand and said, "My name's Ashly. Without an 'e' in it." Keith shook Ashly's hand and replied, "I'm Keith." Ashly then asked, "So, when'd you transfer to this lovely school?" Keith said, "Um... just a couple of months ago."

Ashly nodded slowly.

Ashly then said, "Well, since we're sat down at this table, let's kiki!" Chris said, "I'm down, miss thing!" Keith shrugged his shoulders and said, "Sure, why not?" Ashly, Chris, and Keith proceeded to talk about things under the sun after that.

Half an hour passes by, and the school bell rang.

So, the three of them stood up from the table. Keith then said, "It was nice meeting you, Ashly." Ashly smiled at Keith and replied, "I had a great time getting to know you, too, Keith. Now I know why little miss Chris couldn't stop talking about you."

The three of them laughed.

Keith then said, "Well, I need to go to my next class now. See both of you later." Ashly and Chris smiled and replied, "See you later, honey!" As Keith started walking to his next class, Chris said, "I guess we better get to our next class, too, Ashly."

Ashly nodded, and both of them proceeded to walk to their next class as well.

As the clock struck 5:00 pm, the day was over. When Keith exited his last class, he started walking to the school's exit. All of a sudden, Ashly tapped his shoulder and asked, "Got any plans later, Keith?" Keith replied, "Um... not really. Why?"

Ashly stared at Keith menacingly for a few seconds.

Keith rolled his eyes moments later and said, "Babe, just cut to the chase." Ashly replied, "Geez, no need to be so moody, Keith. I was wondering if you'd go to Starbucks with me." Keith then asked, "Is there a nearby Starbucks around here?"

Ashly nodded.

Keith didn't believe Ashly, so he grabbed his phone and looked for nearby Starbucks branches from his school using Google Maps. Once he found one, Keith exclaimed, "Jesus Christ, Ashly! The nearest one from this school is 10 miles away."

Ashly shrugged her shoulders.

She replied, "Don't even worry about it. I could easily order us an Uber." Keith asked her, "You've got a Uber account?" Ashly playfully rolled her eyes and said, "I just told you, babe." Keith then told her, "Alright, then, honey. Let's go to Starbucks."

Ashly immediately ordered an Uber for both of them.

As their driver arrived to the school's parking lot 10 minutes later, Ashly said, "Come on, Keith! We don't wanna come home late today, right?" Keith nodded and replied, "Alright, then." So, Ashly and Keith entered the Uber shortly afterwards.

The driver started driving both of them to Starbucks.

When they arrived, Ashly and Keith thanked the driver before getting off. Then, Keith asked, "So, why did you want to come to Starbucks?" Ashly replied, "Well, it was really nice meeting you, and I want to get to know you better than lunch earlier."

Keith smiled at Ashly before opening the door for both of them to enter Starbucks.
