MY NAME is Blake Winters, a mutant like any other. My abilities were telekinesis and creation of any weapon from nothing but the palm of my hand. I discovered my powers when I accidentally murdered my parents at age ten, nine years ago. I worked at a bar in New York, which was where I was headed because my thirty-minute break was over.

I opened the back door, immediately smelling the alcohol. I was wearing a white tank top, a black button up, unbuttoned with the sleeves rolled up, wide jeans and black converses. I hung up my small backpack up on a hook in the locker room, before going out to the front.

About an hour later, two men came in and seated themselves in front of me at the counter as I cleaned the glasses. "Afternoon, gentlemen. What can I get you?" I asked, quirking a brown and placing the cup down.

"Are you Blake Winters?" The shorter one asked with a Scottish accent.

"Who's askin'?" I responded, throwing the towel over my shoulder.

"My name is Charles Xavier."

"Erik Lehnsherr." The other introduced himself.

"What do you want?" I questioned, picking the glass up and placing it on the shelf.

"How would you like a job?" Charles offered and I furrowed my brows together.

I had accepted the man's offer, feeling like I could trust them more than an average person. A while after us three went behind the building to show our abilities, they were quite impressed with mine, seeing as I had full control over them. We then headed to my apartment, so I'd be able to change and pack a small bag.

Right now, I was wearing green cargo pants, a grey cropped shirt with black sleeves rolled up and the same shoes. The two men had brought we to a CIA research base. They introduced a man named Hank and a blonde woman, who wore a black dress, named Raven. She was beautiful and kind and all the positive stuff. She seemed to be around my age. She led me to a large lounge room and explained everything about this job, for example: how Xavier and Erik would be recruiting others too.

We were sat down on a couch together. "What is your ability?" I cocked a brow, interested.

Raven then transformed into me identically with my exact voice. "Shapeshifting into anyone I see. What about you?"

"You'll find out soon enough. I like surprising people." I smirked, running a hand through my hair.

"Fine, I'll wait." She chuckled, taking a sip of her Coke.

I was sitting on the same couch, beside Raven with Hank was on her other side. There were other recruits who had joined us during the rest of the day. There was Angel, Alex, Darwin and Sean. None of us knew each other's abilities yet except Hank's, and only I knew Raven's.

"We should think of code names. We're government agents now. We should have secret code names. I wanna be called Mystique." Raven suggested with a grin.

"Damn! I wanted to be called Mystique." Sean exclaimed from a chair across.

"Well, tough. I called it." She giggled, then transformed into the red-headed boy.

"Whoa!" Darwin and Angel said in awe like the rest of them.

"And I am way more mysterious than you." She stated in his exact voice, and we all clapped.

"So, Blake, what about you?" Mystique turned her head towards me.

"Well, considering my ability, Blade." I shrugged, sipping my drink.

"Why Blade?" Alex questioned and I glanced at him. I stood up and shot out a knife from my palm, hitting dead centre of the dart board on the wall behind Darwin and Angel. The two leaned to the sides, avoiding the weapon.

"Whoa!" They all yelled, clapping their hands together.

"I can create any weapon and I can levitate things." I smirked, sitting back down.

"What kind of things?" Cassidy asked, hands together in between his knees.

"All kinds of things." I responded, lifting his chair up with my mind.

"How 'bout you, Darwin?" I quirked a brow at him.

"Well, uh, Darwin's already a nickname, and, you know, sort of fits. Adapt to survive and all. Check this out." He stood up, walking to the fish tank behind the couch. He stuck his head in the water and gills grew on the sides of his head. We cheered and laughed as Darwin smiled at us.

He shot out, shaking his his head to rid it of the water. "Thank you, thank you. What about you?" He pointed at Sean, drying his head with a towel nearby.

"I'm going to be... Banshee." He said, off the top of his head.

"Why do you want to be named after a wailing spirit?" Hank questioned, and we all gave Cassidy a confused glance.

"You might wanna cover your ears." He suggested, standing up and looking at me. "Would you mind lining up these cups?"

I flicked my wrist, lining them up in a straight line and covered my ears as advised. Sean sucked in a breath as he bent down, smirking. Then let out a high-pitched whistle, hitting the window and shattering it to bits. We laughed and chuckled at his poor aim.

"How'd I miss that?" He grinned, taking a seat again and pointing at Angel. "Your turn."

"My, uh, stage name is Angel." She stood up, taking her jacket off making Sean whistle. "Kinda fits." Two holographic wings then sprouted out of her back.

"You can fly?" Raven exclaimed, leaning forward in amazement.

"Uh-huh. And, um..." She turned towards the window, spitting something out. It landed on the head of the statue, making it light on fire for a second.

"I'm turned on and disgusted." Darwin winced as we laughed. Angel placed her jacket back on and sat down.

"What's your name?" She asked Hank.

"How 'bout Bigfoot?" Alex suggested making me roll my eyes at his arrogance. Summers seemed to be the type of 'Bad boy' in school all the girls would swoon over, though I obviously wouldn't.

"Well, you know what they say about guys with big feet. And, uh, yours are kinda small." Mystique commented, and I grinned at her as the others chuckled at the insult.

"Okay, now. Alex, what is your gift. What can you do?" Darwin interrupted our laughter.

"Uh, it's not, um... Uh, I just can't do it." Alex shook his head.

"Can you do it out there?" He pointed outside where the statue was.

"Why don't you just do it out there?" Raven agreed.

"Come on." Angel added.

"Come on!" Cassidy joined in, and we began chanting his name then stopped when he nodded hesitantly.

"Get down when I tell you." He ordered, stepped over the glass to a corner outside.

"Get down when I tell you." Cassidy mocked as we followed, peeking around the wall to see him.

"Get back." Summers demanded, and we did, then moved back to our original spot. "Get back!... Whatever."

He moved his hips in a circular motion, creating red rings of energy, shooting them away and cutting the statue in half. We clapped as Angel jumped in awe.
