When I was a little girl, my family owned a restaurant. It was small, but everyone enjoyed it. The food was simple yet delicious. I was in high school at the time and I was actually pretty popular. Probably because I had a better personality. I was kind, funny, open, and eager to do things. That being said, I also wore a ton of makeup to cover up my eye bags. During high school, the part of town I lived in was a bit run down, so gangs and etc. were to be expected. Although sometimes their were a few guests, we didn't really mind. They were a bit loud, but they paid. Then one day, whole groups came. It wasn't just two or three, but a hundred. They came and they took over our restaurant; saying it was for "the good of our territory". That day I thought my whole world had ended. If only I knew. The next day, they came back again, and this time they killed my parents. My parents refused to give them all their money and in exchange, they killed them in the back alleys. I don't know why they didn't kill me, but I wish they did. Now I was stuck with them. I ran the restaurant now, and only with a certain amount of money could I use it on the restaurant. A few years passed and I finally graduated from high school. I wanted to go to college, but what was I supposed to do. I didn't have enough money and, last time I checked, no way would the gangsters that took over allow me. All I could watch, heh, and cook. . .

"KIPO! HURRY UP WITH THOSE DRINKS"
"Yes sir!. . . ugh, what a pain..."

Oh, I guess I never mentioned my name huh. It's Kipo. I don't really give out last names anymore because there is no use for it. No one calls me by my full name anymore. As I said before I work at a restaurant. Its ramen and Japanese cuisine by day and a full time bar by night. But either time, it's run by gangsters. So back to where I was, I was getting drinks for that man. He's Capo. That isn't his real name, but him and his family are of Italian descent so when he became the gang leader of the area he took on that name. I walked out to the table where Capo was. Sitting with some woman.

"Here. Enjoy"
"Why thank you, Kipo"
"Aaah, you're such a cute girl~ Kipo was it? Ca~pooo, how come Ive never seen this cutie in your area?"
"That's cuz Kipo owns the restaurant. She's not in the gang."
"Oooh, is that soo. Shame~. . . .so Capo-"

I turned back towards the the kitchen, but right before I could go in Capo yelled at me again.

"Kippo! You've got more costumers"

Sigh I swear I'll never get a break. I turned back around and looked at the entrance.

"Welcome, sit where you'd li-. . . M-Meo?"
"hmm? Ah, Kipo, long time no see"

Meo was a boy from my high school. From when I knew him, we were pretty good friends. We both had good grades and were popular. I even had a crush on him for some time. Most people thought we were going to end up dating, but I kept my feelings to myself, that and Meo was a bit of a sadist to other people which creeped me out. But I never imagined he would get into gangs. That didn't seem like him at all. Anywho, Meo and a group sat down and I gave them a few menus. A few of them seemed familiar from before, but I'm guessing the rest were newcomers.

"What can I get you?"
" Awww, We'll take two beers and, what about you, Meo, Layla?"
"Meoo~ I wanna beer too."
"Heh, we can get one then. One more beer Kipo, and I'll just take a water."
"Ehhh~, no beer for Meo?"
" Naah, last time I checked I'm the designated driver. I know you all are gonna get wasted."

Ugh, they're all arrogant too. Just my luck. I don't think the world knows just how hard it is to put on a poker face. When I walked back into the kitchen, my straight face dropped and I rolled my eyes. I got their drinks and once again got the courage to go out again. Then I got their orders, I thanked God that their order was small. Those girls must not eat much, trying to look that skinny.
