The line goes dead

Taking Adam back to base was like throwing a bomb into the room. Nobody apart from Kenji, Aaron, my parents and I knew what had happened with Nina so when we got back everyone started asking questions. Adam looked so lost. He obviously thought we would have told people but we didn't think he would need to come to base so we hadn't told everyone.
I take Adam to his bedroom. "It's just how you left it" I say "I don't think anyone has been in here since you left" "thanks Juliette" he says as he sits down on the bed. "Are you okay?" I ask "no." He said bluntly "I feel awful. I upset Nina, I stormed out and I slept with the girl who used to torture me in school. I don't think I could make this any worse" he says, looking at his hands. "Well that's excellent then" I say cheerfully "did you just have a stroke?" He asks "no I have not" I say as I sit next to him "if you can't make things any worse then there is plenty you can do to make things better." I say "it is just like you to take the most negative thing I say and make it positive" he says. "That's just me. " I say as I smile at him. "Do you want to speak to Nina?" I ask "I do. If I'm going to end the relationship because of this I at least want to know why she did what she did." He says. "Okay. Do you want to call her?" I ask "I want to take a shower." He says "well you take a shower and get dressed. There is still some of your clothes in the closet and I'll call Nina and see if she can come here. Okay?" I ask "yes mam" he answers as he gets off he bed and marches into the bathroom.
Nina's phone rings for only one second before she picks up. "Hello" she whispers. "Hi Nina." I Reply "Juliette is that you? Is Adam there?" She whispers again "yes and yes. Adam would like to speak to you. Can you come to base now?" I ask "no... sorry I can't but can you do me a favour?" She asks in a whisper. I can here driving in the background. "Yeah of course" I say "tell Adam I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt him. I really did love him and I still do. Please tell him I don't have much time" she whispers. I hear the car stop and a door opening and then shouting. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!!" A man shouts. I hear Nina whimpering. "Please, please, please" she doesn't even know what she's begging for. Her phone drops from her ear and I hear it hit the ground. I hear scratchings on the floor as Nina gets picked up and she screams. "JULIETTE!!!!! YOUR BABY, THEY'RE COMING!!!" I hear her phone smash as someone steps on it and the line goes dead.
I drop the phone from my ear and run out the door. I keep running. I run past Winston's room and I run past the dining room where everybody is still yapping about Adam. At I run past the doors I scream "AARON!!!" And I see him start to chase after me shouting "JULIETTE WHATS WRONG? JULIETTE STOP!!!" But all the noise gets lost in a thunderstorm of all the thoughts in my head. I run past Kenji's room and I finally reach my own bedroom door. I kick it down easily and I rest my eyes on the black, hooded figure staring down at my resting baby.
