Inhuman

Nobody spoke all the way home and I finally break the silence when me and Aaron get back to our room. "Where do you think Adam went?" "I don't know but right now I think he just needs a bit of space" Aaron replies. "I suppose but I don't want him to get hurt" I say "the only person hurting him right now is Nina, she should have told him the truth" Aaron says as he comes over to me and takes the baby carrier, with Grace inside out of my hands.
After Adam left and the room went silent Nina started to cry and she ran away to her bedroom and threw something out the door then slammed the door. I walked over to see what she had thrown. It was tickets to a concert of a band her and Adam liked and a reservation ticket for the place they had their first date. I showed it to Aaron and he motioned that we should go so all four of us silently left the flat and Grace woke up as the cold air of the lobby touched her skin. Once we had closed the door we could hear screaming coming from inside the flat and things being thrown at the walls and Grace joined into the screaming chorus but all we did was leave and sit in shock the whole way home.
"Do you think nina will leave the rebels or leave Adam?" Aaron asks as he pulls out the baby bath and starts to fill it with warm water. "I don't know but if Adam does take her back I don't think they will ever be the same as they were before. This episode will either make Nina hate us and want to fight and betray us or she loves Adam to much and she will help us." I say in all honesty. "I hope she decides to help us" Aaron says as he gently places Grace into the warm water. "Go get changed love and we'll go and get something to eat" he says "I'm not hungry" I say "I'm not letting you go without any food I can't bare to go through you not eating again because your upset. It would be just like nine- nearly ten years ago again. You were so stubborn. It wasn't like I was trying to get you to eat a cat but the fight you put up about not eating astounded me" he chuckles "stop it. I didn't know you then, you could have been feeding me cat for all I knew" I say back. "Go and get changed sweetheart while I finish washing Grace before I have to change you myself" he says "okay, okay I'll go but I'll shout on you if I do need any help"
At dinner, after getting changed with some assistance I tell my parents about what happened with Adam while Kenji plays with Grace. "He just left without another word" I say "did he not say where he was going?" My mum asks sounding concerned "no but I think he will probably go back to where he always goes when he is upset, which is his old apartment where he stayed with James for so many years" I say "well shouldn't you go see if he's there?" My mum asks. "No mum, if he wants to speak to us he will come here" I reply as I look down at my hands which are shaking. Aaron takes hold of them and they stop shaking.
Grace fell asleep quickly after being put into her cot. I lock the doors that open onto the balcony and bolt them both closed then check that the door to our room and the window into Grace's room are both locked and bolted as well then go and get changed into loose fitting yellow pyjamas and crawl into bed and pick up a book. Aaron crawls into bed five minutes later "what do you think their next move is?" I asks "well I guess they are still trying to kidnap Grace" He replies as I put the book down on my bedside table. "I don't understand why they thought this would be the best way to accomplish their goals. If they actually told us what they didn't like about the way we run things we might be able to change them but kidnaping a new born baby is just..." The words escape my lips. "Inhuman" he says "yeah" I say as I turn over to look and the baby that has brought so much love and happiness into our lives but has also brought great danger to herself. "I would never let anything happen to that baby. I would rather be eaten alive" he says "don't say that. But I understand. So would I" I reply "nothing is going to happen tonight love so for now go to sleep" he says. I turn the lights off and Aaron pulls me into his arms and kisses me gently on the neck " goodnight sweetheart." He says "goodnight Aaron"
