Free me (a shatter me fanfiction)

A party

I was woken by a lovely kick in the stomach. I turn my head to look at the clock on my bed side table. It's 8:30. Warner's not here. I can't think where he's gone to. He won't be in the training rooms because he said he's not going training until the baby's born. I pull myself out of bed and trudge into the bathroom to have a bath.
When I'm dressed I sit at my dressing table and pull my hair into a ponytail. I'm wearing a pale blue dress that loosely covers my bump and some navy shoes. It's Paula's birthday today. We are having a surprise party for her. It will start at two o'clock I think. I check the card that's on my table. It says "Come to meeting room 1 at two o'clock on the twenty first of July". I reach to the top of the book case and pull down a blue box tied with a silver ribbon. Aaron and I got her a little crystal ornament of a deer. Deers are her favourite animal. I untie the ribbon and open the box and the little deer is glittering at me in the light I lift it up and check for damage but it seems as perfect as when we bought it. I gently place it back in its tissue paper bed and place the lid on top and tie the ribbon up again. I sit down on the bed and start to write a card then the door opens and Aaron comes in. "Hello love" he says cheerfully as he comes over and gives me a light kiss then sits next to me on the bed. "Good morning. You seem very happy" I say "well I've got nothing to be unhappy about" he replies and he gives me another kiss. I can't help but smile at him. "What are you writing?" He asks "just a card for Paula" I say. He nods "what were you doing?" I ask "it was helping Kenji and James put up decorations in the meeting room" he replies "great! How does everything look?" I ask "good but I need to take a shower" he replies "can you have one after breakfast because if we don't go now we will miss it" I say "of course" he says as he gets out of bed and hops round to my side and scoops me out of bed and walks towards the door. "Put me down Aaron I'm to heavy for you now" I say "you could never be to heavy for me" he replies "please" I say and he obeys and he gently places me on the floor. "As soon as the baby is born I promise I will carry you like that to breakfast every day" he says "I'd prefer if you just carried the baby like that" I reply "well not to breakfast" he says and he takes hold of my hand and kisses it gently and then drops our interlocked hands down to our sides as we walk to breakfast.
We sit at our usual table and Kenji and Paula aren't there. "Where's Kenji and Paula?" I ask James "Kenji wanted to give her breakfast in bed" he answers "I see" I reply "what did you get her for her birthday?" Anna asks "we got her a little crystal deer ornament" I say "very nice" she replies "what did you get her?" I ask "we got her a necklace locket with an A engraved on it" she answers "sweet" I reply.
We're on our way to the meeting room now we were told by James to go early so we will all be there to scream surprise at her when she comes in. It's 1:45 so we won't be too early. Aaron is wearing a pale blue shirt and a navy tie with a pair of navy trousers. I'm still in my dress. We get to the room and it's only Adam and Nina there. I give them both a hug. "how are you?" I ask "we're fine" Adam replies "good, good" "how you feeling Juliette?" Adam asks "okay. A bit tired. Was woken up by a kick in the stomach today" I answer "fun" he replies. Nina is wearing a red dress and black heeled shoes. Her long dark hair is tied into a pleat at the side of her head. Adam is wearing a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of blue jeans. "You both look great" I say "you too" nina replies as James and Anna walk into the room. The room is covered in balloons and banners with thirty written on them. About 1:55 Brendan and Winston come in and the only people we're waiting on is Kenji and Paula. A few minutes later the door opens and we all scream "SURPRISE!!!" As Kenji and Paula walk into the room. "Wow guys thank you." Paula says. "Happy birthday" I say to her "thanks Juliette" she replies. She is wearing the purple dress I helped Kenji pick out for her birthday. "let's get this party started" Kenji says. Everyone laughs and he starts the music.
Everyone left about 6:30 for tea. The party was good. We basically just danced and chatted the whole time. Aaron and I went to get ready for tea as well. After putting on more comfortable leggings and a purple jumper we go to the dining room.
At dinner we have beef and potatoes. Paula comes and sits next to me "hello Juliette" she says "hello" I reply "thank you very much for the lovely ornament. It now has a place on my dressing table." She says "you're very welcome" I reply. "May I?" She says and she gestures at my bump. I nod and her and she starts playing with my tummy.
That night, After crawling into bed and Warner wrapping his arms around me I ask him a strange question. "What do you think we will be doing this time in five years" "I don't really know. Maybe tucking our child into bed. Singing it a song, reading a story possibly to two children." He says "we'll have to see how this one goes first" I say. He laughs and stares down at me and smiles "or maybe just what we're doing right now" he says "none of those sound bad at all" I say "as long as I'm with you nothing could be bad" he says. With only those words it feels like he has just cut me open and pumped me up with sunshine.
