Lia was up all night researching, going through books, searching grimoires without a tint of sleep in her eyes. She was tensed about Stefan's behaviour, but she needed to find a way to get Stefan's memories. And finally after going through what felt like a 100 grimoires, she finally thought she found her answer.
"I think I found a way to get Stefan's memories back," Lia said as she bursted into the Salvatore Residence.
"Yeah, I don't think we're gonna need it anymore," Damon replied, looking at her from his seat on the couch.
"What do you mean?" Lia asked with confusion written across her face.
"Just wait and watch" He replied as Stefan entered the parlor and sat down in front of Damon. "October 1852?"
"You broke my nose trying to teach me how to throw a right hook," Stefan replied, pondering his answer.
"Not on purpose, just to be clear," Damon defended himself as Elena chuckled. "How much did you pay for that hunk of junk motorcycle you ride?"
"That's a trick question. You bought me that motorcycle. Although, I'm guessing it was pretty expensive." Stefan replied, smiling softly.
"So, Tessa just gave you back your memories? No strings attached?" Damon asked, looking skeptical.
"Well, it wasn't exactly a gift. It was a lot to take in all at once." Stefan replied. "Everything from blowing out the candles on my first birthday cake...to drowning in a safe."
"Stefan?" Watching Stefan zoned out, Lia called out his name in hopes he'd come back to the present time."Stefan?" But, when that happened he broke the glass in his hand.
"Whoa. Easy there, buddy." The older brother cautioned with wide eyes.
"Stefan, where did you go?" The newbie vampire asked him.
"Ah. Heh. All that and I still can't remember my own strength." He soon came up with an excuse but Lia knew there was something else to it. Both Stefan's and Lia's faces turned towards the basement area when they heard clattering sounds coming from there. "What was that noise?" Stefan asked, confused.
"Uh, well, that is--" Damon started when his girlfriend cut him off.
"We have a situation," Elena replied.
"Of the doppelgänger variety." The raven-haired vampire concluded.
"Yeah" Elena sighed.
"Katherine?" Stefan asked, trying to pin the points together.
"No. Nope. Not Katherine." Damon replied as they all got up and walked towards the basement. They heard someone screaming 'I don't know' as they got closer to the basement. Stefan and Lia saw another version of Elena in front of their eyes, panting and whimpering.
"What's wrong with her?" Lia asked, confused about her erratic behavior.
"Tessa turned her into a block of rock and kept her in a box for 2000 years" Damon replied sarcastically, explaining her mental state. "Probably went a little stir crazy, like those deserted island guys that talk to volleyballs."
"So you're telling me that this girl is the only thing holding together the Other Side?" Lia asked not believing it.
"Yep, she's the anchor." The older brother exaggerated as usual. "As long as she's alive, the Other Side exists, and we can keep trying to get Bonnie from over there."
"Well, considering she's immortal, I'd say we have plenty of opportunity," Stefan said, finally speaking up.
"You'd think. Except last night she stuck a hole in Silas's neck, sucked the cure right out of him. So now she's not only nuts, she's mortal which means we have to keep her ordinary, little human heart beating until we get Bonnie back." Damon explained.
