CHAPTER Ⅷ

For once, everyone thought that all was well in Mystic Falls. That everyone was happy, and no one was facing any supernatural drama. There only gossip/problem right now was that Damon tried to be all selfless and broke up with Elena, a problem almost every person deals with. So, here Lia was, with Caroline in their dorm room, cleaning it up.

"Hey, I need a favor. You know how Damon was trying to be all noble and broke up with Elena?" Stefan asked from the other end of the phone.

"Of course! There was champagne." Caroline replied happily still clearing the room.

"Yeah...well, I kind of convinced him that he was an idiot," Stefan continued.

"You WHAT?" Lia asked furiously.

"And now he's in a bit of a mood...and something tells me he's been trying to get a hold of Elena and she hasn't been returning his phone calls." Stefan completed explaining his side of the story.

"Look. we'd love to help if we thought he was actually good for her, but we don't." Caroline replied as she did not want to deal with Damon. Lia on the other hand was fine with dealing with Damon, but not his relationship.

"Caroline...how would you like to be judged solely based on what you're attracted to? Come on." Stefan asked trying to make a point.

"What? Do you know something?" Caroline asked instantly getting nervous.

"Why? Should I know something?" Stefan asked confused.

"I just mean...are you sure this is really what you want? You know...Elena and Damon...or Damon and Elena...I know there's a nickname in there somewhere." Caroline asked wanting to change Stefan's decision.

"Listen...I actually think that Elena is good for Damon. She makes him happy and we all know that when Damon is happy..." Stefan trailed off knowing one of the girls would complete it for him.

"He's not out there killing people, which I guess is a plus for mankind." As expected Lia finished for him.

"Exactly." Stefan tried persuading them again.

"But even if we wanted to help, she's not here. I thought that she was with you." Lia replied wanting to help Damon but not wanting to show it.

"She told me she was staying at Whitmore," Stefan replied.

"Okay...that's weird...um...Well, where the hell is she?" Lia asked confused.

"Okay, so Bonnie took Jeremy to go visit her mom and neither of them have talked to Elena," Lia said as she entered the Mystic Grill with Caroline in tow.

"Who invited them? Scram." Damon said looking at the two female vampires, not wanting to hear anything from anyone.

"I invited them. They agreed to help you get Elena back." Stefan said as he turned back to face Damon.

"You?" Damon asked pointing at Caroline. "You hate me! You once told me that calling me Satan was an insult to Satan." He then turned to the other female in front of him. "And you? I killed you! I thought you hated me."

"Still do," Lia muttered under her breath before a huge smile appeared on her face as a frown approached Damon's face. "Well...nobody's perfect."

"Mm-hm" Damon hummed as he faced Stefan before turning back to the girls. "So this is what it's come to? You bring me love advice from Prudy Trudy and Hermoine Granger?"

"We can be unpredictable and incredibly reckless." Caroline defended herself and her newly made best friend.

"What's going on here? Are you guys babysitting me?" Damon asked with furrowed brows, confused by the situation.
