"It was really nice of the princess to invite you to this tea party my lady!" Ava, her personal maid squealed in excitement as she rummage the whole closet trying to find a perfect dress for her lady to wear.
"Yes it was." The woman sighed, trying to sign her last pieces of paperwork. Really, the moment Athanasia heard about her coming back home, she held a tea party right then and there, and insisted she tag along. That girl really is something else.
The young girl was about to decline, seeing as she has a lot of things to do and to finish, but just imagining Athy's sad face is already making her feel bad, and so, she sent a letter, informing the now crowned princess she will attend this party of hers.
She let out a breath before hearing her maid's words complaining. "These dresses are just not right for you! Some of them doesn't even fit you anymore!" The young Florence slightly chuckled. "It has been more than five years since I ever went back home. It's no wonder my closet needs a little freshen up."
"Say, why not have a little bit of shopping today, madam?" Her personal assistant grinned mischievously. Her master gave a look and was about to speak when she interrupted. "Don't try and make an excuse, my lady! Your nose has been stuck on those pieces of paper since this morning! It's not bad to go outing once in a while."
That was the truth. Ever since she came back from abroad, she did nothing but to sleep, eat, work, and do those things all over again! This was her daily routine when she was still studying overseas, so maybe she could really use something such as this.
"Alright then." With her word of permission, her maid quickly fetched a coat for her and they started their journey on finding new clothing and accessories.
"Wow, your style has changed a lot, my lady." Ava commented as she curiously observed her lady's choice of fashion. "Is it bad?" Viviane laughed. "No, of course not! They're just not what I'm used to." She explained before the lady gave her a small hum in response, signaling her to explained further.
"Usually when we go shopping for clothes, you would always pick light and pastel colors, always choosing those girly ones. I'm not saying those are bad either but, these fabrics you're choosing now are very vintage and.. how do I say this, unique? But I don't care either way, I will support you on whatever you may choose, my lady."
The maiden smiled as the Florence mirrored her facial expression. "Thank you. I was pretty shocked as well. I guess I liked wearing these back in boarding school, which may be the reason why I'm choosing these right now."
They continued talking when an average looking woman popped out, bowing her head in the process. "Welcome, my lady. We're terribly sorry that you had to go and wait here. I'm going to be your seamstress for today, if you don't mind."
"Of course I don't. Please take care of me then." She smiled before she was guided to the fitting area, her personal maid left behind drinking her tea outside.
While measuring the young lady's measurements, the seamstress asked questions she was expecting her to, after all, people nowadays cannot help but gossip about whatever information they could find, both nobles and commoners really do have one thing in common.
The elder woman asked how she was studying, and how she was when she was still abroad, you know, those kinds of things. "How is your father doing?" She suddenly asked, making the young girl tense up. "Don't be stiff, sweetheart. You don't have to answer if you don't want to, I'm not forcing you or anything." She laughed before continuing.
"But rumor has it that your younger brother will take on the Florence duchy when your father will pass soon, is that true?" her words were true, but she can't say that. Not yet. And so, she laughed it off. "That depends on father's decision, but either of us are willing to take on the throne."
"I see. Well, that's all the measurements I needed." The elderly bowed her head once more. "I'll prepare everything as fast as possible so you can wear them freely, my lady. I will send these to you in a matter of time."
The girl smiled. "Thank you. I will be expecting the best clothing and accessories in a week." Before she left, she turned to the old woman. "Actually, I have one more thing to ask from you, is that alright perhaps?"
"You took a long time to finish, my lady. I thought I had to leave all by myself this evening. Your father won't like the fact that you left and returned very late, you know." Her personal assistant complained as she laughed aloud. "Yes, but you're going to be the one getting scolded since this is your idea."
"Still, I didn't know you still had the energy to go shopping 'till night." Ava opened the lady's bedroom door before she helped the young woman get ready for bed, complaining throughout the whole process.
After some time, the young Florence was finally tucked in like a burrito. The young maiden can finally relax after all that. She wasn't expecting the lady to shop all day, can't blame her, they went to more than five store today!
"I'll get going now, my lady." She slightly bowed her head before turning off the lamp, looking at her young master who's almost asleep. "Thank you for today, Ava." She smiled before completely falling into slumber.
"Good night, may you have the best of dreams, my lady." She quietly giggled before carefully shutting the door in front of her, wishing the young woman a peaceful night.
