The chirping of birds made the young Florence awake from her slumber. She opened her eyes to see the princess of the empire gone from where she was sleeping, probably already awake and eating her breakfast.

She was about to step out of bed when the door swings open to reveal Athanasia de Alger Obelia, along with two maids and Lilian York.

"Good morning, Viane!" The girl greeted as she jumped on the bed, hugging the still sleepy-looking lady. With a yawn, she greeted back. "Good morning Athy, you're up early today, did something happen perhaps?"

"Early?" The princess tilts her head and laughs a little. "Vivi, it's almost lunch time."

What?

I'm sorry?

What did she just say?

"Pardon?" Now it was the lady's turn to get confused. The other girl then made her face a clock on a wall beside the princess's bed. "See? It's already 11:00."

Holy mother of cows.

"Oh my goodness, you're right!" The lady immediately jumped out of bed, the princess following. "How dare I wake up so late?! And in the princess's bed at that!" She rambled as the two maids who were with Athy started to get her ready for the day, with Athy's commands.

"Don't be a worry-flurry. There's seriously nothing to freak out about. Why, do you have any important things to do today?" The girl reassured, if the lady did have something to do, she would've woken her up hours ago to get her going.

Oh, but, she can't just force the lady to wake up, that'll be extremely rude of her. Especially when the young Florence is sleeping soundly like a wrapped burrito.

"No, but, why should I sleep in when all of you are already awake?!" She freaked out again. Oh goodness, this brings back memories when they had a sleepover years ago and the lady slept in, making her go mad.

The princess couldn't help but laugh at the memory. "What's so funny?" She sees the Florence pouting and couldn't help again but to squish her soft cheeks. "Nothing, I just remembered something hilarious."

The morning (well, slash afternoon) was spent with the young lady and the princess ranting about whatever and the maids dressing the young Florence up, Lily laughing on the side. Hah, this kids really didn't grew, did they?

"You do know you could've just ate without me, you must've been hungry waiting all this time." Viviane munched on her food, a fork on the left, a newspaper on the right. It says here that a certain man announced that he loves this woman in public, making the lady choke on her food.

Yup, he's definitely going crazy.

That is something manly though, she'll give him that.

"Well, I wanted to have a meal together ever since I heard you came back from that boarding school, and plus, I had some milk and cookies a couple hours ago anyways, so, I wasn't that hungry." The princess had a smile on her face while eating her favorite food.

The lady sighed before smiling.

This princess is one amusing girl indeed.

"Oh, right! I have something for you." The princess handed a small invitation to the young duchess-to-be. "What is it?" She asked before opening the invitation. "A friend of a friend of mine is having a grand ball to celebrate her birthday and I was invited to come, it also said that I could bring a plus one!"

"Oh? It's the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Valerie." The lady spoke as she ate, making sure she still has table manners to not embarrass herself in front of the princess. "You know her?" The girl asks.

"Well, I won't say I know her, I just met her once or twice back when I was still in the boarding school." She shrugged her shoulders. Of course, she has made friends here and there, however, she doesn't really stay close to them since she only spends her extra time studying and reading in a library there.

This girl though, she bumped into this girl when they were reaching for the same book on the said library. They made small laughs on who gets to get it first. Her eyes were familiar so she introduced herself, making the other girl introduce herself back. That was when she knew she was the daughter of a baron her own father knows.

"So, are you interested?" The princess questions, making the girl snap out of her thoughts. "Uhm, I'll see if I'll be available that day." The lady responds, making the girl pout. "It'll be more fun if you'll be there."

"Who else are coming?" It was the young Florence to question this time. The princess thought for a while, it didn't say who were coming, so she just guessed who would possibly be there. "Probably some daughters and sons of nobles and noblewomen."

She rambled as the lady listened closely. "I'm pretty sure duke Alpheus will also be there, since he's popular with the ladies." The lady choked on her own saliva. "Are you alright?" The girl rushed to her side before grabbing some water, handing it to the lady as she drank it slowly.

"Oh, I see." The Florence regained her posture. "I just remembered that, that day I will," She tried to make an excuse. She knew that she wasn't busy that day, she'll probably just read and make herself comfortable on her bed.

But, her mouth can't make a sentence. No, she can't make an alibi when the princess was looking forward to this party with her. I mean, when you can make the crown princess and future empress of this empire invite you to a gathering as a best friend?

Probably never, unless you're truly close with her.

"That day I will not do anything and is totally free." She faked a smile. "Yay! I'm glad!" The girl hugged the lady and smiled back. "Then, let's finish our food?" The young lady spoke as the princess nodded with the smile on her face still remaining on her lips.

"I'll miss you so much." The blue-eyed girl sobbed. "Goodness Athy, We'll see each other again! I'll be your partner on the party, right?" Viviane clamed her down.

It was the time where the young Florence has to leave the palace and go home since it wasn't raining anymore. Ugh, maybe the thought of making Lucas magically make it rain till at least a week was a smart idea after all.

"You're right, maybe that thought was brilliant." The princess muttered, making the lady confused. "Anyway, I'll be going now." The Florence smiled slightly. "Alright then. Make sure to be safe on the road, okay?"

"I will, don't worry."

With their final hugs for the day, Viviane Florence left the imperial palace.

Now, it was time to find a good-looking dress and attend a birthday banquet with the princess next week.

And to possibly bump into a certain white-haired male.

But there's certainly nothing to worry about, right?
