𝐎𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞 of serotonin and nostalgia. The scent of worn down pages and dust mixing together creating a perfect fragrance. Will lives for the scent, making most of her free time spent in the public library, reading any piece of literature she is capable of getting her hands on. It is one of the few times when Will is able to appreciate silence. Since the teenager arrived at Welton Academy she has yet to visit their most likely extravagant library without having to search for school issued textbooks.

It was 5 o'clock when Will visited the library again, this time of her own accord. As she entered she was met with silence, the way it should be in a place such as this. No one else seemed to be in the vast room, no one but her and an elderly man by the name of Patrick Harrison. When Will entered the room his head snapped up from the book he was reading and a wide grin was set upon his face. He quickly climbed out of his seat and rushed over to Will.

"You must be the Ms. Hunting I keep hearing about." He said, shaking Will's hand with excitement. At Will's nod of confirmation he continues. "I'm Patrick Harrison, I look after the library and all its works of art." When he stated this he slowly spins around in a circle, gesturing to the hundreds of novels that surround them.

"I'm Will." Said girl introduced herself, a smile creeping onto her face against her will.

"Now what can I help you find today." Arthur queried, a bushy, grey eyebrow raised. He subconsciously prays that what the girl is searching for is not a piece of literature school related. Whenever one of the students enters the library it is never for anything interesting, only to help further their education.

"Hopefully '1984'?" Will requested, making Patrick's eyes light up. As soon as they do however they diminish.

"Unfortunately '1984' has been banned at Welton for pro-communist propaganda." He told her, making Will's nose scrunch in confusion.

"But '1984' criticizes totalitarianism. One of it's main messages is condemning the Communist ideology, not promoting it." Will stated, the idea of the book being banned not making sense to her. "Is the irony of banning this book just lost on Mr. Nolan? I mean '1984' completely berates censorship and here he is censoring it."

Patrick does not interrupt her tirade. He does not interject or come to the defense of the headmaster. He only listens and nods is head in agreement. Eventually Will ceases her ramble of displeasure and sighs.

"Well, thank you for your help anyway." She mumbled, turning around and beginning to exit the library. Before she crossed the threshold however Patrick's voice stops her.

"I never said we didn't have it."

Will looks back to the elderly man and quirks an eyebrow in suspicion. Patrick glances around, making sure that no prying ears are listening in on the oncoming conversation. With his index and middle finger he gestures for the teenager to follow after him. Will hesitantly does so, matching his rushed pace step for step. They slow to a halt before a locked cupboard. It is approximately Will's height and twice her width. Patrick retrieves a key on a chain from beneath his crème button down shirt. He yanks it over his head and inserts it into the lock. With a faint 'click' the door opens.
