- Friends to lovers

If you were to walk in the quiet part of London you would be sure to come across two old buildings with a modern interior. One is a bookshop and the other right next door is a coffee shop. These buildings were owned by two best friends, George and Dream

George enjoyed the smell and the warmth that the coffee shop's atmosphere held. The interior was simple but packed. There were tables and chairs placed around the room in an organised fashion, photos and paintings of different animals hung in an askew pattern but somehow looked right, the glass counter held an assortment of treats that ranged from: cakes, cookies, gingerbread and muffins - all handmade, behind the counter were coffee machines and a variety of flavours to be added to the drinks, the sideboards were sparkling - not a dirty spot on them, a few potted plants hung from the ceiling and the final main thing was a large drink fridge that held bottles and cans of soda. Some days the shop was busy, some days the shop was quite, George didn't mind either way

Dream on the other hand hates the smell of coffee and he makes sure to tease George about that whenever he goes in to annoy him when he's on his break. He owns the bookshop next to George. He loves his job, it's calm - hardly ever busy but never empty, the smell of the books doesn't get old to his nose, the mellow sound of a piano that played through speakers around the shop could send him to sleep, never ending choices of books that he can get through in a matter of days if he really committed to it. It really was his dream job.

"Good morning sunshine" Dream announced as he scrunched his nose up at the coffee smell

"Hello" George greeted "You do know you can wait outside and I'll grab your order from out there"

"I do know that, but then that means I can't annoy you. My shop isn't open yet and I have time to spare" Dream leaned his elbows on the counter

"Would you like a drink?" George asked placing his hands on his hips

"A cup of ice" Dream requested

George stood dumbfounded, mouth hung slightly open, eyes semi-wide

"...Please?" Dream added unsure about George's reaction

"I don't think any level of manners can take away my shock to you once again ordering a cup of ice" George turned to pick up a plastic cup from the stand

"Well, it's my usual drink" Dream stated

"Well, I've never had a customer who just orders a cup of ice" George shot back as he used the ice machine to fill the cup

"And how much would that be?" Deem smiled

"Nothing. It's basically water, we don't charge for water, idiot" George playfully rolled his eyes

"Sweet!" Dream beamed taking the cup from George's hands

"You already knew that, don't act so surprised" George tapped Dream's arm with his hand

"I know, it's just funny watching your reactions to things" Dream smiled as he crunched on a piece of ice

"You'll break your teeth one day" George shook his head

"I won't, this makes them stronger" Dream smiled showing off his white teeth "See, not one chip in sight"

"You're something else" George groaned as he leant on the counter "Shouldn't you be opening up?"

"Oh god yeah!" Dream stood up straight "Will you spend your lunch with me today at my shop today?"

"If I must, I must" George shrugged "Kidding, obviously I will"
