- Strangers to lovers
The ocean was calm, just how Dream liked it. He was floating on the surface, the sun's rays hitting his stomach. He was relaxing until something pulled him down, making him go under the water
"Ah! Haha!" Sapnap laughed "One me, zero you"
"You're such an idiot. I was enjoying the sun" Dream grumbled, shaking his head violently to get stray strands of hairs on his face
"Ugh you're boring. B O R I N G" Sapnap rolled his eyes floating around Dream in a circular motion
"Well then let's race. From here to...that cave...rock looking thing" he pointed across from the two of them
The two friends took their starting position, Dream counted down from five and at zero they both swam as fast as their tails propelled them. Dream reached the cave first, quickly followed by Sapnap
"Me one, you one. Now we're equal" Dream raised an eyebrow
They ended up racing each other the whole afternoon, not getting the slightest bit tired. Dream had a large lead and Sapnap trailed behind with his score
They arrived into the evening by leaning on a rock, back to the sunset, facing the beach, relaxing. Neither spoke. The only noise that was heard was the waves hitting over rocks or water brushing past them, the sounds of people on the beach talking and the occasional whistle blow
"You think we'll ever go there?" Sapnap asked
"On the beach?" Dream asked, Sapnap nodded, "No...they're humans and we're...not"
"But surely there's some way we can be human...just for a little while"
"Why do you want to go so bad? Is the ocean not good enough?" Dream chuckled
"No no, the ocean is great...it's just...I know it's not possible but there's this guy that surfs" Sapnap sighed "He's really cool. I always watch from a distance while he glided over the waves...I wish I could to that as well"
"Who is he?"
"I don't know...just a guy" Sapnap shrugged pushing away from the rock "Well, I'm off. Bye Dream" he sunk under letting his red tail hit water onto the other
Dream stayed a little while longer before dunking himself under and swam down to his home in the coral

George had gotten nowhere
His boss had told him three months ago he had to find a new species of water life, make research about it and make it liable for an examination period...problem is...that examination period is cutting very close to the deadline, so close the red circle around the date is merely two weeks away
"Shit" George groaned pulling his hands down his face
"George, oh George that is the sound of despair" Wilbur sang walking into the room
"I'm in an ocean of despair, I'm sitting here waiting to drown" he laid his head on his arms
"Oh, don't be like that" Wilbur pat George on the shoulder "You're the best marine biologist in this department"
"It doesn't seem like it. I've been in the deep end for three months and the examination is in two weeks. I'm screwed" George slumped in his chair
"Maybe you aren't deep enough" Wilbur suggested "You might still be in the shallow waters and you need to go further"
"How much further do I go? The Mariana fucking Trench?"
