Chapter 25

                                 Nikolai

Ever since Santi has been here it's like we never stop working, especially Reina.

Like I know she's obsessed with the mafia but since I've met her she's never been in her officer for three days straight.

Either she's working hard, or she's avoiding me.

Because every time I come to talk or give her something , she's been acting weird.

"Nikolai, may we have talk with you?" Her parents ask.

Oh shit.

I nod my head and follow outside to the garden.

"We just wanna ask some questions" her father says.

"Okay" I say.

"So your father , his name is Vladimir Volkov correct?" Her mother asks biting her tongue a little.

"Yes".

"Who's your mother?" Her father asks.

"I don't know, I never met her" I shrug answering truthfully.

"And the reason you want Reina dead after the alliance is because she killed your father , right?" Her mother says.

"Wait , how do you know ? Because Reina acts clueless every time" I say confused.

"Reina, she's forgot a lot of stuff back when she was kid due to some things happening to her" her mother says as she sits down on the bench.

Something happening to her?

"What we're trying to say is, you know your father was a bad man. At one point he kidnapped Violet and Reina as hostages for us and at the time your father and the German leader Otto was our biggest threat like the English is yours, Reina killed your father in order to protect me, your father was going to kill me infront of her , she was only four the same age as you, but my question is, why do you want her dead after all these years and how did you know it was her?" Her mother asks as her father got up and took a phone call.

Should I open up to her?

"I'm not going to tell anyone Nikolai , I won't do that even if they were the enemy your still a kid" she smiles at me giving the motherly warmth in my stomach.

No she's just being a decent human.

" I don't know my mother, and my father may have of done bad things and he only did tough love but he's still my dad, I looked up to him" I shrugged.

"And your daughter killed the only last family I had" I sigh.

"Who raised you? And trained you?" She asks.

"Alekskis and Alina's parents raised both me and Levi when she saw us under a tree , and I trained myself, I knew who my father really was through articles I found and I knew it was your daughter because of the internet as well" I say.

"You may not have any family by blood, but your friends are family, you grew up with them, like I grew up with everyone in that house back their" she says smiling at me.

This feels nice.

"Walk with me" she says standing up linking my arm with hers as we walk through the rows of flower bushes.

"You know after the alliance it's not going to be easy killing reina, she's been through a lot and she has a strong mafia" her mother says as we continue walking.

"Yea I know , I just want revenge for my father" I sigh.

Should I kill her?

Yes....No

"You know Revenge comes in many ways other than killing , yes that's what we are taught in the mafia but my favorite kind of revenge is success"

"What?" I ask.

"Success can often be deemed as the best revenge because you don't have to tell anyone about it, I know it doesn't make sense but basically you move on. You make your fathers mafia , your mafia stronger than his ever was , make him proud and not be wasting your years trying to kill his killer" her mother says making me stop in my tracks.

Wise words.

"Your saying moving on is a type of revenge?" I ask.

"Depends on the way you look at it, look at it my way and try it at least before this alliance is over and if you choose to kill my daughter, we'll you've just started a war" she says making me chuckle.

I look behind her "why white and black roses?"

She looks and smiles "there Reina's Favorite, basic I know for a mafia leader but she says it tells a story".

Is this whole family wise or something?

"How's she doing? When she's stress she usually locks her self away with work. Have you talked to her?" She asks making me shake my head.

"Can you maybe try and take her out for some fresh air?" She asks making me shake my head yes because how can anyone ever say no to her? She's so nice.

"How come your being nice to me?" I ask.

"Because everyone has there demons and is lost and some may choose to see that as a bad thing, but I see it as being human , your still grieving from your father" she smiles at me as Giovanni returns behind her causing her to look up and smile.

"Have you ever lost someone?" I ask.

"Yes, a friend who was a like a sister to me and two other people which is a story for a different day" she says then showing me away.

Once I walk in I head up to Reina's office and walk in to see her reading some papers.

"Get up and shower and change into something causal" I say making her look up.

"You heard me, get up "I say walking over to her.

"I'm working Nikolai , like you should be doing" she sighs making me roll my eyes.

I push her chair back causing her to let out a small gasp and throw her over my shoulder and walk towards our rooms.

"NIKOLAI PUT ME DOWN!" She yells.

"Nope, your going to shower and change and you and me are going out" I say then stop for a minute.

"Did you just smack my ass?" I ask her only to hear a chuckle.

"Yes I did" she says.

"Your in for it" I say the throwing her on her bed.
