Chapter 5

Ring ring ring!!!

I heard my phone ring while I was in the bathroom getting ready to go long boarding. I went into my room and answered.

"Hello?" I asked

"Hey jess, it's luke" he says

"Oh hi Luke, how are you?"

"Good, how are you?" He asks

"I'm good, what are you doing?" I ask

"Nothing much, I was just about to ride my board around" he says

"Really? Me too, wanna go together?" I ask

"Sure why not, meet me at the park" he says before hanging up. I grab my longboard and put on my mint green converse and walk outside. I see Luke ride past my house.

"Hey!" I yell. I must have startled him because he almost fell off. I laughed and walked over to him.

"Hey clumsy" I laugh.

"You scared me" he laughs.

"Well let's go" I say hopping on my board and riding to the park with him.

"Hey Jess, wanna go to the movies with me sometime?" He asks. oh no.

"Uh well Luke I'm really sorry if I led you on at all but I..i don't really like you in that way" I say.

"Oh okay...well I should get going" he says before turning into a different road. What did I just do? I feel so bad. But I was telling the truth. I rode my board home and walked to the door when I heard someone say hi behind me.

"Hi" daniel says

"Oh hi" I say

"What are you doing"

"Uh I just came back from long boarding" I say.

"Cool, I just wanted to say that, what happened yesterday after school, I'm sorry" he says

"Yeah, I wanted to talk to you too, I shouldn't have freaked out at you so much" I say before giving him a hug. I could stay like this forever. He pulled away and said,

"I have to go, its family dinner night" he says "you are welcome to come"

"Thanks but I'm pretty tired, i think tonight I'll just have a date with Netflix and food" I say laughing. He laughs before walking inside. I sigh and walk back to my house. I walk inside to see dinner on the table. Spaghetti and meatballs, my favorite.
I sit down and start eating, I'm guessing aunt Hil left to run errands or something, I guess I'm home alone. I finish my dinner and walk upstairs.

Ring ring ring!!

I look at my phone and see its from chloe.

"Hi" I say after answering the phone.

"So..give me the details!" She says

"Uh on what?" I ask

"Come on jess, I know you were with luke today!" She says

"Uh how did you know that?"

"I know everything" she laughs "now give me the details"

"Well we went long boarding together and uh he asked me out" I say

"Oh my gosh that's great!!! When do you go out?!" She squeals

"We aren't. I turned him down" I say

"Are you kidding me jess! Wow, why?" She says

"Idk not my type I guess"

"Yeah that's not it, come on, spill" she says

"Fine, i don't like him, he's a player and a jerk to girls, I didn't want to fall for him like every other girl has, then a week later, get my heart broken"

"I get it, my moms calling I gotta go, lets hang out tomorrow okay?" She asks

"Okay see you then" I say before hanging up. I get changed into my fuzzy pajama pants and a tshirt before getting my laptop and turning on Netflix. I went downstairs and made some popcorn before running back upstairs to start my "date"
