Tommy's body felt horrible.
This wasn't how it was supposed to go.
Why does everything hurt?
He had thought death would stop the pain.
He had hoped so.
It was so dark...
Maybe this was the afterlife...
Endless pain...
Darkness...
He should've known there was no relief.
He just wasn't that lucky.
Everything hurt, all he could feel beside the pain was the cold on his back.
It felt like the thousands of times he had found himself lying on his back on the cold stone of a cave, regretting it all.
He tried to open his eyes, maybe there was more to the afterlife then darkness.
It felt as though his eyes were glued shut, he struggled for a second before giving up on that.
He let out a hoarse croak.
Maybe someone would hear him.
He hoped it wouldn't be Wilbur, although Schlatt would be worse.
He hadn't thought this far ahead.
He tried to call for help, not that he was sure he wanted the help of any of the other dead ones.
His voice came out only as a faint, gurgled croak.
He whimpered as his throat alerted him to how much it hurt.
It was like he hadn't had anything to drink in days.
As he thought that, his stomach grumbled, but that wasn't new.
Hunger had followed him everywhere in exile, he had just hoped in death he would escape it.
He struggled to open his eyes again, this time succeeding in opening them just a sliver.
Through his eyelashes he could see grey.
It looked like stone.
He must be in a cave of some kind.
He sighed.
Of course death wasn't this easy.
He lay there for an hour, trying to work up the energy to sit up.
Finally he managed it, sitting up, curling into a ball to escape the pain.
Everything hurt.
He stayed like that for hours.
Shaking, crying, hurting.
Suddenly he heard footsteps.
He froze, holding his breath, hoping whoever it was wouldn't find him.
He didn't want to deal with Wilbur right now.
The footsteps continued towards him.
Of course.
He was too stupidly unlucky to escape.
He just hoped it wasn't Wilbur or Schlatt.
He waited, unable to move or escape as the footsteps came towards him, echoing slightly in the cave.
Seconds passed, then the man appeared.
He looked at Tommy, startled.
"Who are you?" He asked.
