you're gonna see a bunch of old comments since I first made this book in 2022 (it was a scenario book btw, but oneshots are easier)
(If it isn't obvious enough, I am a huge devoted idiot to Mitsuri. So she comes first, always! Sorry not sorry, Obanai)
The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm, golden hue over the landscape as it dipped toward the horizon. The day had been long, filled with the usual hustle and bustle that came with being a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, but now, as the evening approached, there was a sense of peace that settled over the world. The breeze was soft and fragrant, carrying with it the scent of blooming wisteria-a scent that always seemed to calm (Y/n)'s nerves.
She made her way through the winding paths of the wisteria gardens, her steps light and purposeful as she followed a familiar route. Her thoughts were focused on one person in particular, the person who had become the light in her life, the one who always made her heart flutter with just a smile.
Mitsuri Kanroji.
The Love Hashira, with her bright eyes and infectious energy, had stolen (Y/n)'s heart from the moment they met. There was something about Mitsuri that was impossible to resist-her kindness, her warmth, and the way she always seemed to bring a smile to everyone's face. And now, as (Y/n) approached the secluded spot they often shared, her heart began to beat a little faster, anticipation bubbling up within her.
The wisteria grove they had chosen for their rendezvous was tucked away from the rest of the world, a hidden oasis where the two of them could escape from the demands of their duties and simply be together. The trees formed a natural canopy overhead, their delicate purple flowers cascading down like a curtain, creating a space that felt almost otherworldly.
As (Y/n) stepped into the grove, she immediately spotted Mitsuri. The Hashira was sitting on a soft blanket that had been spread out on the grass, her back against the trunk of one of the trees. Her long, pastel-colored hair cascaded down her back, the tips curling slightly as they caught the last rays of sunlight. She was humming softly to herself, a gentle melody that filled the air with warmth.
"Mitsuri," (Y/n) called softly, not wanting to startle her.
Mitsuri's head snapped up at the sound of her voice, and the moment her eyes met (Y/n)'s, her face lit up with a radiant smile. "(Y/n)!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement as she scrambled to her feet. "I was hoping you'd come soon! I've been waiting all day to see you!"
(Y/n) felt her heart swell with affection at the sight of Mitsuri's beaming face. She closed the distance between them in a few quick strides, and before she knew it, Mitsuri had wrapped her in a warm embrace, pulling her close. The Love Hashira's arms were strong yet gentle, holding (Y/n) as if she were something precious, something to be cherished.
"I missed you too," (Y/n) murmured into Mitsuri's shoulder, breathing in the familiar scent of her. There was something so comforting about being in Mitsuri's arms, something that made all the worries of the world fade away.
They stayed like that for a moment, simply enjoying the closeness, the feeling of being together after a long day apart. Mitsuri's warmth seeped into (Y/n), chasing away the lingering fatigue from her day, and when they finally pulled apart, she felt lighter, as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders.
Mitsuri took (Y/n)'s hand in hers, her fingers intertwining with a gentle yet firm grip. "Come sit with me," she said, her voice soft and inviting. "I've set up a little picnic for us. I made all your favorite snacks!"
(Y/n) couldn't help the smile that tugged at her lips as she allowed Mitsuri to lead her to the blanket. The sight of the picnic spread made her heart skip a beat-Mitsuri had gone all out, as she always did. There were neatly arranged plates of rice balls, fresh fruit, and an assortment of sweets, all carefully prepared with love and care.
