you're gonna see a bunch of old comments since I first made this book in 2022 (it was a scenario book btw, but oneshots are easier)
tbh this is pretty ooc for daki and in general, but whatever.
The moon was full and bright, hanging high in the night sky, casting its pale light over the city below. The streets were alive with activity, with humans bustling about, completely unaware of the demonic presence that lurked in the shadows. Yoshiwara, the infamous red-light district, was as busy as ever, the air thick with the scent of perfume, sweat, and the quiet murmur of whispered secrets.
It was a place where the line between the living and the damned blurred, where demons could blend in among the humans, their true nature hidden behind carefully crafted facades.
In one of the many lavishly decorated oiran houses, a figure moved gracefully through the dimly lit halls. Her long, silken kimono trailed behind her, a cascade of vibrant colors that seemed to shimmer with every step she took. Her hair, dark as night, was styled intricately, adorned with delicate ornaments that gleamed in the soft light of the lanterns.
Daki, the feared Upper Moon Six, was every inch the picture of beauty and elegance. But beneath that flawless exterior was a power that sent shivers down the spines of anyone who dared to cross her. She was a demon to be reckoned with, a predator who thrived in the darkness of the night.
But tonight, her mind was not on her usual games of manipulation and terror. No, tonight her thoughts were occupied by someone else entirely-someone who had managed to capture her heart in a way that no one else ever had.
(Y/n).
A demon, like herself, (Y/n) had become more than just a companion to Daki. She had become a constant in her life, someone who understood the darkness that dwelled within her and accepted it without question. In a world where demons were often solitary creatures, driven by their hunger and bloodlust, finding someone who truly understood her had been a rarity-a rarity that Daki had come to cherish more than she would ever admit aloud.
As Daki made her way to the private room they often shared, she could feel her heart begin to beat just a little faster, anticipation building with every step. It was a strange feeling, one that she wasn't entirely accustomed to. After all, she was a demon, a creature born of darkness and death. Feelings like these-these human emotions-were foreign to her, something she had long since cast aside in favor of power and survival.
But with (Y/n), everything was different.
Reaching the room, Daki paused for a moment, her hand resting on the sliding door as she took a breath. She wasn't nervous, not exactly, but there was a part of her that always felt a little out of her depth when it came to (Y/n). It was a feeling she both loved and loathed-one that made her feel vulnerable in a way she hadn't felt since she was human.
But then again, wasn't that the point? To feel something, anything, in this endless existence of blood and darkness?
With a small, almost imperceptible smile, Daki slid the door open and stepped inside.
The room was bathed in a warm, golden light, the lanterns casting a soft glow over the rich fabrics and ornate furnishings. And there, sitting by the low table with a serene smile on her face, was (Y/n). Her hair cascaded down her back, and her eyes, bright and sharp, lit up the moment they met Daki's.
"There you are," (Y/n) said, her voice soft and welcoming as she rose to her feet. "I was starting to wonder if you were going to keep me waiting all night."
