"Did you come here just to stare at my ceiling?" Hoseok questioned, looking at his best friend zoning out on his bed. He hated to call her that. Best friend.Nia shrugged.
The girl was laying on her back with her legs up against the bed's headboard, wriggling her feet and her eyes following their every move.
Hoseok scoffed and leant backwards, getting comfortable in his gaming chair that he would often rather sit in than in his bed.
His best friend had called and asked if she could come over. The two always hung out randomly. Being together felt natural and they didn't even have to talk to enjoy each other's company.
But today Nia seemed different to Hoseok.
It wasn't unusual she just came to hang out and relax.
But it was unusual of her to be tripping and biting her lip while not even looking at him once. She seemed off.
She obviously came to tell him something, and Hoseok let her take the time she needed to get the words out... whatever they were, he reckoned it was those who would make him the happiest boy to walk on earth.
But so far it had been 42 silent minutes and 32 unbearable seconds of endless waiting, sitting on a chair with a tripping and obviously anxious girl in front of him.
Just tell already!
Hoseok was usually very patient, especially when it came to Nia, but Nia's behavior made the older boy very impatient and it was hard for him to keep cool for any longer.
"Agh, just tell-"
Hoseok stopped as Nia's phone started ringing on the table behind him.
Jungkook's name followed by a heart lit up on the screen as Hoseok turned around to grab the phone.
"Who is it?" Nia asked, suddenly something worth her attention.
Hoseok looked up from the phone, just to see Nia sitting on the bed leaning forward and almost running to get her phone.
So now she's talking?
"Jungkook, the guy from my gym class?" Hoseok questioned doubtingly. Why would he be calling Nia? Why was a heart emoji attached to his name?
Just as the boy got to finish his sentence, Nia grabbed the phone and was already on her way out of the room.
"Hey are you going already!? Didn't you want to tell me something??" Hoseok called after her, standing up from his chair.
What was the rush that made her lose sight of the fact that she wasn't actually alone but with her best friend?
"I'll be back in two minutes." She spoke before leaving Hoseok alone in the room for the next ten minutes.
"Hi Baby." Jungkook's voice was raspy and almost inaudible through the phone.
"It's 2 pm, did you just wake up?" Nia laughed, already feeling less anxious now that she had left Hoseok's room.
"I know right... I should've taken another hour..."
Nia sensed the yawn and heard a few noises through the phone as Jungkook was stretching.
"But I wanted to hear your voice." Jungkook spoke making Nia's cheeks hurt from all the smiling.
Since the two had become a couple Jungkook hadn't stopped praising Nia, telling her all the things she wanted every chance he got. He loved the way it made her blush and smile as if he made her the happiest girl alive. He liked to think that.
