Separation anxiety

"I'm going on a business trip for a few days. Will you be okay Mikey?"

"Yeah, yeah. I'll be ok. Don't worry." Mikey reassured you.

You really had nothing to worry about. But this is the first time you and Mikey will be separated for a long time. But you don't know how he will react. He is bonded to you. He's never shown discomfort when you weren't with him for a few hours so it should be ok. Plus he has Draken, his closest friend.

So you hesitantly removed yourself from his hug and went to your flight. You texted him throughout the whole flight and he was okay so far. He was having so much fun with his babysitte- I mean Draken that you being away wasn't so bad.

"Mikey! Out of the trash can!" Draken yelled.

"But I want to stay here!"

"What the fuck..."

The whole day was Mikey just Draken's life a living hell. At least he's not sad though.

"I'm gonna go on a date with Emma. Are you sure you're ok without y/n?

"Yup! She told me to call and text her."

As soon as Draken left, Mikey got out his phone and called you...No answer. That's okay, you're probably busy. He'll just send a quick text so you can call him back.

30 minutes later

No answer. Is she ok? What if she's in danger? All these thoughts running through Mikey's head are starting to make him panic. And then...

Text message

Y/n💕: babe I'm so sorry! My boss didn't even let me settle in. Are you okay?

Mikey: I was so worried😭

Y/n💕: I'll come home right now if you need me

Mikey: no! I don't want you to leave the job for me. You just got there. I love you so much so don't worry about me.

Y/n💕: ....okay. But make sure to call or text immediately if you're anxious.

Phew. How could he think y/n has left him? She would never do that. After that, they had a FaceTime call for about an hour until Mikey got tired. It was nighttime after all.

"But y/n, I don't wanna go to sleep" Mikey sulked.

"But Mikey...I want to be healthy. Please?"

"Fine. But you better talk to me lots tomorrow okay?"

"Yeah yeah. Goodnight baby. I love you."

"...I love you too..." Mikey went shy.

For the next two days, Mikey was just as happy as when you were still home. You were talking lots and showing him what you were doing at your job.

"Alright honey, I'm going back to work and I can't be on my phone. But call me if you need anything ok?"

"Yes, y/n bye babe."

And then you hung up. Mikey went to take a shower and got ready for bed. He pulled on the blanket and he closed his eyes. He couldn't sleep. He then reached to your spot to pull your arm to wrap around him. Oh, wait... He forgot you were gone right now. That's good okay. He's been sleeping alone for the past few days, he'll be fine tonight.
