~Hate~

The last panel. The last glass panel, and she had to fall. The poor girl had the gods over her shoulder, and slipped up. That's why I am on my knees right now, gripping the girl's arm to save her dear life.

"I have you!" I cry. My arm feels like it is about to fall from the socket.

"Juliana!" An older man screams. "Don't worry!" He rapidly walks down the hallway and takes hold of her other arm. Thank goodness for him.

"Pull on three." I grunt. I don't hear the screams of the girl, so she must be out. Unconscious.

"Three!" The man shouts. What happened to one and two? I start pulling a little late, as expected, but we get her up and onto my side of the glass. I lay back, taking the girl in my arms. Panting, I look to the sky.

"Hey!" What? "Don't do anything to her, she was just trying to help us!" An elderly woman calls from behind.

"I won't hurt her!" I shout, loud enough so they all can hear. "We work towards a common goal."

Shock crosses each face, and I hate it. Just because I wear ripped jeans and a black (and red) cloak I'm a bad person. The Hatees get it bad, no matter how much they deserve it. No matter how mush we deserve it.

I stare into the glass and catch my reflection. Two dark red eyes stare back at me, gifted to me by Hate himself. My black, naturally wavy hair rests proudly on my shoulders, and hangs down to bellow my under arm.

What doesn't show is my chains, the ones holding me back. Invisible to the naked eye, but I'm truly trapped. No way to escape what has been handed to me on a sliver tray...

I was born an outlaw of sorts. My dad, an explorer, and my mom; who was a goddess of her own. She always wore bright green, an outlawed colour, and the colour of her eyes. The watched over a select few to protect them from the gods' grasp. I don't know who put her on this planet, but she was no ordinary human. The last time I saw until a while ago was the day before I was taken. She cuffed my cheeks and apologized for something she hadn't done...yet. She told me that I had to be taken away and shipped off to the City Of Hate for my wellbeing. I wouldn't survive unless I was forced to be a Hate devotee with some other young outlaws.

When I reached the city, I went through a two months pre-course, and two semi courses. It was painful reaching deeper and deeper somewhere I didn't want to go. I didn't believe in hate! No matter how hard the others pounded Hate's greatness into my puny mind, I refused to believe it. It went on like this for years, until I saw my mother's face again. She took me into her embrace, and apologized again. She was more happy that her little flower was alive, though. I cried at her to change me back, to rid my eyes of red, and undo the bindings of Hate. She then told me that the universe had plans for me, and that if I came to this city she would do as I asked.

It is time to reunite with my goddess mom and my charming father.

A tear slides down my face.

Too long, it has been.

It was my dad who told me to come to him. I couldn't leave, I wasn't allowed.

The letters, I need him.

I have to find him, wherever he is living. I will travel to the place of my birth, and work my way outside the square.

I love you daddy.

"Thank you." A shaky voice startles me.

I stare at the girl, speechless.

"You saved me, I remember parts..." She trails. "Why are you crying?"

"I might never see my dad again." Long story short.

"...because of me?"

"No, just forget it." Fake smile.

"I may not know you, but you can open up to me. I owe you anyway." This girl, who does she think she is? Kind and sweet even though she nearly died! I should be telling this to her. Look at her scars...

I have scars too, just invisible ones like the chains.

"My story? Pull up a chair, this might be a long one."
