"What did you do, have a party while I was gone?" My dad scolded

"No, no. I was just... kind of letting off some steam after spending a full day, um, working on that book report."

"So you trashed the kitchen!?"

"No! I'll clean it up, I promise!" I started to get to work scrubbing the floor, but Shep had surprisingly cleaned most of it up himself. I wiped up the counters and started putting things away before I paused, wanting to finish making our breakfast.

It didn't take me long before I had two servings of pancakes ready to go. I carefully tip toed back to my room, grabbing my acoustic guitar off of the floor on the way.

I handed Ryan his stack of pancakes when I got to my bedroom. "I wish I could've helped you clean up that mess." He shook his head. "I'm the one who made that mess in the first place."

"Ryan, that mess was created by both of us. It wasn't just you," I laughed.

"How mad is your dad?"

"Eh, he was just kind of annoyed," I shrugged. "I don't think he really cares now because I cleaned everything up."

"Well that's good. I'd hate to get you in trouble."

I shook my head and took another bite of my pancakes. "You didn't. I'm just worried he's going to be more suspicious. We have to be even more careful now. We've gotten through half of this weekend though, so..." I trailed off, thinking about how Ryan was going to have to leave tomorrow. I never wanted this to end. Can't he just stay here the rest of the week?

"Uh, Abby? You kind of trailed off on me."

"Sorry, I was just... thinking."

"About what?"

"When's your next show?"

He thought for a moment. "Tuesday at 9:00. We're going to be on the road for the majority of Monday, but at least I don't have to leave too early. I hate having to get up early for gigs because I know I'll also have to stay up late too. Why?"

"I'm just... sad that you have to leave. I know I said this was going to be a boring weekend for you, but it hasn't been for me. I hope you haven't been too bored."

"Are you kidding me? This is the most fun I've had in a long time. I'm always going to remember this."

I groaned. "You're already talking about it like it's in the past."

"We still have almost a full day left. Let's enjoy in instead of thinking about the fact that I have to leave tomorrow, okay?"

I smiled. "Fine." We both set our empty plates on my nightstand. I threw myself back onto my bed, facing the ceiling and Ryan did the same.

"Can't you just stay for like one more day? My dad will be at work tomorrow. We can roam around the whole house!" I tried to persuade.

"Abby, I can't. I'd have to miss our gig."

"Alright." I sighed. "Hey, what are you going to do about Brendon?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, doesn't he have to pick you up? He can't pick you up from here, and you're too far away to walk to your dad's house, right?"

"Yeah. What I'll do is walk to a nearby gas station and just tell him to pick me up from there. I'll say that my dad and I got into a fight and I went for a walk to cool down, and before I knew it, I was all the way across town. I'm sure he'll buy it," he snickered.

I sat up and looked down at my clothing. I glanced over at Ryan too. We were both still covered in pancake mix. I snorted. "We are a mess."

I got up and shuffled over to my closet, pulling out two new outfits for Ryan and I. I tossed one of them over to him. "Here, you can get changed into this."
