Things between Hope and Josie had been... awkward?


Okay, awkward was an understatement.

Hope had been practically ignoring her and when she did interact with Josie she kept her talking to a minimum.

She would barely look in Josie's direction when she would come over and drop off food for Josie.

The most she and Hope had talked was about the auburn setting up some of the baby furniture for Josie.

I mean technically Josie did ask for this didn't she?

She told Hope they shouldn't have a relationship outside of their co-parenting but she didn't think it would be like this.

"Is something wrong?" Maya asked as she traced shapes into Hope's stomach.

"Hm?" Hope looked over at her.

"You've been so lost in your head these past few weeks what's going on in there," Maya said searching her eyes.

"Nothing, I'm okay" Hope gave her a reassuring smile.

"Are you sure?" Maya said still sounding concerned.

"Yeah, I promise" Hope said bringing her into a short kiss.

Maya smiled as Hope pulled away "okay" she said rubbing Hope's cheek with her thumb before sliding her hand down so it was resting on Hope's lower abdomen.

"Maya..." Hope said lowly.

"Hm?" she smirked and looked up at Hope.

Hope pulled Maya on top of her and cupped her jaw as she pulled her into a kiss.

Josie was in the kitchen cooking a cheese quesadilla when they suddenly felt pain in her lower abdomen.

"Fuck..." Josie said turning off the stove and leaning against the counter.

She felt the pain again "Lizzie" the brunette called out and the girl immediately walked into the kitchen seeing her sister.

"Jo what's wrong??" Lizzie said running up to her.

"I don't know," Josie said freaking out "I'm only six months Lizzie w-what if."

"No, you're fine okay? let's go get you checked out" Lizzie said grabbing her hand.

"Go get Hope," Josie said.

Lizzie quickly ran out of the apartment and ran to Hope's apartment next door and started banging on the door getting no answer.

"Fucking hell Hope," Lizzie said running back into the apartment.

"She's not home," she said.

"We'll just call her on the way there we need to go," Josie said walking out of their apartment and to the car.

Josie and Lizzie called Hope's phone about a hundred times and the auburn didn't answer once.

Josie ended up having to go get checked out by herself because the nurses wouldn't let Lizzie go back with Josie because she wasn't the other parent.

So here Josie was laying in the hospital bed as the nurses attached monitors to her stomach and started running the normal tests they run on pregnant women when they come in for things like this.

"Try not to stress okay? I'm sure everything is fine" the nurse said giving her a reassuring smile before she walked out of the room.

Hope was putting her shirt back on when she finally picked up her phone she saw about a hundred texts and calls from Josie and Lizzie.

'Hope get your ass home rn'

'it's josie'

'HOPE'

'Answer your phone something is wrong with Josie'

Hope saw as she read through the text messages.

Hope started to panic as she quickly put on her shoes.

"What's wrong?" Maya said sitting up and covering her body with the sheets.

"It's Josie something happened."

"Oh my god is she okay?" Maya asked concerned.

"I don't know I need to leave."

"Do you want me to come with you?"

"No no uh I'm good just- I need to leave I need to-" Hope said walking out of Maya's apartment and running to her car.
