                       THE NEXT MORNING

I finally wake up. I’ve been sleeping for what seems like days. Faye is looking at me, she’s already awake. I wonder if she even slept. Her eyes are even more beautiful in the morning. It’s almost as if she slipped out of bed, done herself up and jumped back in before I woke up. This is the perfect start to the day.

“Good morning” she say softly.

“Good morning, how did you sleep?”

“Completely fine” she says smiling.

I kiss her on the forehead before I reach for my phone. The date haunts me. I feel a dark cloud over take me, 30th October 2022. It’s nearly Halloween. Twenty-four more hours and Haddonfield will be a circus. Thank God I’m working. I couldn’t imagine being amongst the sea of people that’ll be hunting down Michael Myers. For those of you who haven’t heard, Laurie and Allyson are assembling some sort of mob, like a lynch mob. Apparently they didn’t get the message with Tommy Doyle, it doesn’t work. Michael isn’t scared, he doesn’t know fear, he only knows how to create chaos and murder.

“You ok? You kind of went weird on me for a second.”

“I’m fine, it’s just tomorrow is Halloween.

It’s a weird time for me right now” I say concerned.

“You know what, fuck Halloween and fuck Michael Myers. Tomorrow night you and I just have a relaxing night in. We can get take-out, watch a movie and just relax” Faye says excited.

“I’d actually really like that.”

That sounds like a night I can’t pass up. Things couldn’t be going better for me right now. I got the pretty girl, a thriving business and Daisy is fighting a losing battle. I’m a happy man. I getup from the bed, I have to get ready for work, I’m also walking Faye, it’s a little bit out of my way but I don’t it.

The walk came in so quick. Normally I could stroll but in this case we had to hurry a little bit. Both of us were stuck for time this morning. We turn the corner to the hospital to find every street light with a picture of Faye on it. There is a caption at the bottom it reads:

“Faye might seem like a fun loving type of woman, but she has a dark past. Did you know Faye once kidnapped her own child from the comfort of his bed and drove drunk to run away from her ex boyfriend? The two were due to ne engaged but Faye robbed that man and everyone else of that little boy when she kidnapped him in the dead of night and cost him his life.”

I’m shocked, I can’t believe I’m reading this. I look at Faye and she has a tear in her eye. That’s all the clarification I need. But I don’t understand, why would she do this? Why would she be so silly? I can feel a presence behind me, it feels familiar, the smell of cherry blossoms and perfume. It’s got to be Daisy.

“Well, go on Faye. Tell Y/N the truth. He deserves that much” says Daisy with a cynical smirk.

I’m looking at Faye, her eyes swell up. This can’t be happening. How? Why? What could of possibly went through her head. She can’t even speak. She shakes her head as her hand covers her mouth and she runs into the hospital.

“Yeah that’s right, run away again, try not to get anybody killed this time” says Daisy.
I’m walking away from this situation. My brain can’t handle this type of information right now. I can hear heels jogging behind me, they grow louder, they appear closer. I feel a hand on my shoulder spinning me around.
