Here comes Daisy back from her talk with Faye, judging by the look on her face it looks like it didn’t go well. To be honest, I can’t blame Faye. The way stuck her nose into Faye's business was unnecessary and uncalled for. If Faye did somehow forgive her I’d be genuinely shocked.

I look around the store and everyone is looking at Daisy as she makes her entrance. It’s like everyone is hanging on her next few words. The staff love her, most worked with her before but the part time staff see her as this older sister figure and they’ve only met a couple of hours ago.

“So, how did it go?” I ask.

“Well, we had lunch, we sat and talked and then she accepted my apology.”

A sudden rush of cheers come from behind me. I turn quickly to see the staff back to work. I’m not sure who yelled or who yelled the loudest to be honest. Of course I’ll need to call Faye and verify the story but if Daisy is telling the truth then it looks like I have a new store manager.

“Well, I’m man of my word, congratulations Daisy, you have the managers position.”

I can see Max out of my peripheral vision, he’s got his hand raised. It isn’t school, he doesn’t need to raise his hand to talk, why bot just simply talk.

“Yes, Max. What is it?”

“If I’m being honest, I have no job. I lost mine in the city a few days prior to coming to Haddonfield. I’d also like to stick around if that’s ok?” he asks.

“I’m in the market for a handy man, why don’t you have a look around the store and come back to me and we can talk business.”

“I appreciate it.”

I nod and make my way back into my office. I’m constantly watching the clock, it’s later and later. Darker and darker. It’ll be nightfall fall soon and that’s when Haddonfield will become the mobs home. The look in everyone’s eyes today.

Some had fear and some had determination. Way to many had determination. People aren’t going to be happy until Michael Myers is dead. But Laurie should know that you can’t kill him with brute force, hell she said it herself.

Suddenly my phone rings, strange, who would be calling at this hour? Caller ID says Faye, I answer quickly.

“Hey, what’s up?” I ask.

“Hi, listen they’ve asked me to stay late tonight. I’ll ne off around eleven and I’m free for lunch right now, if you fancy it?”

“Yeah, that’s no problem. I’ll go to the bar with some people and I’ll collect you when you’re finished.”

“Ok, I’ll see you in five minutes at that little Italian restaurant.”

Dial Tone...

Well, that sucks. I was looking forward to a cosy night in beside the fire. Bit as it looks I’m going to the bar. Now, next order of business, should I invite the looney two? I look over my shoulder, everyone is happy. Ok fine, looks like I’m going to the bar with my colleagues. I better leave to meet Faye.
October never felt so warm.

The clouds in the sky are so bright and pussy. The gentle warm breeze indicates a cool evening and by the way people were acting you’d swear we’d never heard of Michael Myers.

Faye looks beautiful today. I know it’s just overalls and a ponytail but, my goodness. Her smile is infectious, her laugh is gravitational. Lunch is going awesome, suddenly I see a woman sneaking up behind Faye with a big smiles.

“Hey, sis.”

Faye’s sister. All the way from California. I wonder what she is doing here? Visit maybe? Her red face as she finally reaches us, she looks like a cherry. Her and Faye are so similar, could be twins if you look with a quick glance. Oh wait, she’s talking.

“...Oh my God, it’s so great to see you. I wanted to surprise you.”

“Well you definitely did that” Faye says, I’m guessing sarcastically.

They seem really happy to see each other, but I’m willing to bet they have an old sibling rivalry. You know the type, you and your older or younger sibling would practically kill to ne the best in your parents eyes. Faye’s sister seems like that.

“Hi, I’m Y/N” I say extending my hand.
She stares at me with unease. Like I’m some sort of threat to her sister or her. I can assure her I’m not the enemy, if she only knew.

“This is Y/N. We’re together?” she asks looking at me.

Together? Shit, I’ll take together. I’m happy she feels the same way. Her sister just stares at me. It’s like having a starring contest with a doll. She’ll never blink and my eyes are starting to hurt. She finally extends her hand.

“Hi, I’m Lucy” she says, suddenly bubbly towards me.

I shake her hand politely. I don’t grab to hard, or to soft. Just about the right amount. She seems cool, I’m just a little confused about that long drive to make a one night surprise visit and on Halloween. I find that hard to believe but hey, I could be wrong. I very been wrong before.

“Can I get a double shot of Vodka, mixed with a pineapple juice, with three ice cubes, no more, no less and can I have it frosting... Thank you.”

I look at Faye astonished. Did her sister, I mean Lucy, really just order that. Does she think this is some tropical island? Woman, it’s called a beer, drink it. I can see which one fought for the parents affection. I’m being harsh right now, she does seem really sweet and hey, she’s got a wedding ring on so she must be well sorted in life.

Guys, I shit you not, it’s been about fifty-five minutes and Lucy has told me every single childhood memory that her and Faye have had. Did you know that Faye and Lucy actually battled it out in high school for head cheerleader, with Lucy winning via default for being older, in Faye’s version anyway.

They seem close, even though they live states apart, it seems they never lost that bond. It’s nice to see, I don’t really have family. I guess I could say that this town has become my family now.

Faye checks her watch, time to go back to work. She agrees to take Lucy to the hospital with her, I couldn’t take anymore stragglers into the store today, not with how Daisy and Max there. Time for us to go separate ways for now. Tonight should be interesting to see what Faye says about me to her sister. I kiss Faye and shake her sister’s hand as I watch them both turn the corner, making their way back to the hospital.
