You again?

''So, so, so how much is it worth?''

''I'm impressed Kokichi, I didn't think you'd get it so easily.''

''Yeah yeah, yeaaaah...'' my legs dangle off the chair I'm sitting on. ''Of course, I did! So so so soooo for how much can we sell it?''

Thoma sighs. ''We can't sell it just yet, we have to wait a few weeks or it will be way too obvious that we suddenly have so much money. Also, there will be way too much attention from the police for a while.'' He studies the stone, clearly impressed by its size and colour.

''You're sure no one will be able to track you down?'' he looks back at me.

''Don't you trust me? I didn't get near anyone!'' I'm offended really. I did so well! Who cares if I talked to other people? I deserve to have some fun once in a while.

My trusted friends surround me, but I prefer referring to them as my family. It is the morning after I jumped a-mazing-ly off the grand building in Suma University. I'm a little sore but apart from that, all good. Last night we were all so excited and celebrated with snacks and music. I've barely had any sleep and am exhausted. 6 AM is a shitty time to wake up, I'll tell you that. I won't bother explaining to you everything that happened, figure it out yourself. However, I will tell you we had a blast.

''He's lying'' my thoughts are stopped for a bit. ''I saw him talking to some freshman before we turned the lights off. He wasn't even in costume!''

I am the supreme leader of this group, don't get me wrong, but Thoma is the more ''mature one'' blablabla. He keeps track of whatever we do and cares for us. He can be a bit of a bossy asshole but I can tell we're the most important thing to him.

''Shut the fuck up Elzie'' I hiss. She's always been a loudmouth.

Thoma looks disappointed but not surprised. ''Of course, you did'' he says, mocking me. ''We've gotta track him down and get rid of him or convince him you've got nothing to do with the crime since he saw your actual face.''

He seemed naive and fun to play with, getting rid of him would be a bore. ''I know where he lives, don't worry I got a plan hehe!''

I hop off my chair, letting my hair loose out of the bun, and head to the fridge to get some grape juice. ''Don't look so skeptical! I already know where he lives convincing him will be easy as pie.''

''Fine, what's the plan?''

~

I'm not a morning person, but getting up this morning was the easiest thing I've done all week. I jump out the bed and don't even look back to make it neat. My head is bursting with ideas and accusations about the case. I quickly get dressed and swing the door open with determination. I want to head to the police office as fast as possible but Kaito stops me.

''Calm down buddy, you haven't even had breakfast yet!''

I want to push him away but he's right. My belly growls at me, blaming me for having been too nervous and busy to eat yesterday. ''Fine, what do we have?''

Kaito looks at me sheepily. ''What do we have? Nothing. We just got here, remember?'' he sees my disappointment. ''There's a coffee shop nearby... want to get something to eat there? My treat.''

''Fine.'' I've got some questions to ask him anyway.

I grab my bag and put in the origami and weird little note I received yesterday. I'm aware it isn't sufficient evidence, but it'll have to do. If the police won't help me I'll head to my uncle. I'm sure he'll listen to me and believe me. We could even solve the case together, just like old times. Kaito and I put on our coats and walk through the rain until we get to a small café. I check my watch, it's only 8 AM, the police station isn't even open yet.

The door creaks slightly open, we're the first customers it seems. We take a seat at a table next to a big window revealing the pouring rain as if we didn't just go through it. I sit down and am ready to interrogate and question Kaito. I pull out the origami and paper and put them on the table. I'm about to ask my first question when the waiter comes to our table.

''May I have your order?'' what an odd accent.

Kaito laughs. I frankly look through the menu, just to end up picking a basic Espresso and sandwich.

''An Espr-'' my mouth closes in surprise. The boy with purple locks laughs at me cheekily.
