Time is moving way too fast.
Spring is already here, 6 months into the year, the weathers warm and the people are out and yet everything feels. . . surreal. Like I'm moving two steps behind everyone else while they run towards an imaginary finish line.
Now don't get me wrong. It's nice to not be in a rush all the time, y'know. Just do what you can with what you have where you are and make the most out of it. Wise words quoted and said by the lil shorty, Lee Gahyeon, the legend herself.
As true as those words are, it's evitable to not feel some sorta way at times. Be it procrastination, confusion, or a weekend spent staring at your wall with a notepad clutched tight in your hands of all your dreams and goals.
Life is just weird like that. So I've learned.
And that's alright, really.
Wouldn't be fun otherwise—
"Ok, so...", Jennie's voice reminded me where I was, and what I was doing. Or pretending to do if anyone particularly cared. She held two pots of flowers in her hand, each the same shaded yellow but different in its anatomy and characteristics. "...Tulips or lillies?", she asked, before framing them against the wooden backdrop.
Seulgi hummed as she walked around, eyes squint with a hand on her chin.
I stood by the roof edge, arms folded together as I watch two goofs figure out whether or not an outside bar should have 'majestic vibes - jen' or 'bohemian pinterest babe energy - seul'.
Whatever they choose doesn't even really matter. Flowers make everything look pretty. But as long as I'm up here bartending on this fine afternoon, I'm chill—
"TULIPS! I'm telling you tulips! The women love it!"
"Are you dumb? Lilies are obviously better! It's giving very much majestic vibes"
It's like watching Tom & Jerry all over again. Spongebob and Patrick. Cosmo and Wanda. Shrek and Donkey— you get the point. Their dynamic is oddly satisfying to watch, as long as you don't participate. If that makes sense.
"Fine!", Seulgi shouted, throwing her hands up. "Let's ask y/n!"
Oh no...
"Fine!"
Oh fuck no...
"WHICH ONE'S BETTER, Y/N!". Sheesh. Imagine having a voice like that and not utilizing it the way it outta be used, which is instead of damaging my poor, innocent ears.
Couldn't be them. Obviously.
I turned away while rubbing my poor ear. Perched on the ledge beside me was a blue jay bird, tilting its head, probably thinking how the fuck I get myself mixed into this shit in the first place.
Cause same lil birdie.
♪ Baby, seems like everywhere I go, I see you
From your eyes, your smile, it's like I breathe you
Helplessly I reminisce, don't want to
Compare nobody to you ♪
"Another day, another slay", Seulgi yawned in front of me, head rested against the countertop.
