When Rayna was called to the throne room she knew what was going to happen, and lucky for her she was a good liar. Walking with Bilbo in the throne room she had expected Dwalin, and Balin, but not Fili and Kili.

"You called for me." Rayna clasped her hands behind her back, trying to avoid looking at her prince and showing how anxious she really was.

"You. You are our Halenar. Tell me where is the Arkenstone." Thorin ordered her.

"Of all the times I have told you that I will not tell you what your future holds you would think you would believe me." Rayna sighed out.

"What do you mean what the future holds?" Balin took a half step forward.

"She knows our future." Thorin pointed to her.

"It's more complicated than that." Rayna held a hand up to Balin.

"Our journey is a fairy story in the world she comes from." Kili spoke up, "Yet for her so much has changed."

"Do not defend her!" Thorin spat at his nephew.

"He is only telling the truth." Fili defended his brother.

"What has changed?" Dwalin questioned.

"Well your beard is supposed to be blue and Dori is the company's best fighter for starters." Rayna grinned to the tall brute dwarf.

"Well, glad that has changed." Dwalin adjusted his belt.

Growing more impatient, Thorin raised his voice, "Enough! Tell me where my Arkenstone is!"

"I can't do that because I don't know where it is!" Rayna raised her voice to match him.

"You lie!" Thorin spat.

"Thorin!" Kili called for his uncle.

"No this star filth knows exactly where my birth right is! What good are you to have around if you will not obey me!"

Judging by the reactions of everyone else, Rayna knew Star Filth was an incredibly low insult.

"Thorin." Bilbo dared.

"She takes up with elves-"

"I was being questioned Thorin, and stalling for enough time for Bilbo to free you!" Rayna raised her voice, "And what good am I? Had I not told the elves exactly where to go your sisters son would not be standing here! Kili is alive because of Tauriel! Fili, Bofur, Oin, do you think they could have handled the thirty orcs that were on your trail? Not alone and not without weapons!"

"You expect me to believe any of that?"

"You want the truth?" Rayan stood taller, her posture straighter and prouder.

"It's all I've been asking for Halenar." Thorin seethed.

Rayna moved quickly, getting into Thorin's face, and with an even angry tone she forced out, "You. Never. Find it. Thorin Oakenshield."

Thorin grabbed her by the back of her neck, a dagger threatening her throat. Thorin and Raynas names were called out as Dwalin and Balin swiftly moved to hold his nephews back.

"Thorin no!" Bilbo had cautioned a step forward, pleading.

"You dare call me Oakenshield? You dare lie to me?" Thorin was yelling.

Rayna elbowed his arm away that held the dagger, kneeing him in the stomach forcing the air out of his lungs, with a leg hooking behind Thorins, and a solid shove on his shoulder she put the king flat on his back. She quickly kneeled, putting one knee on his chest to pin him down, ripping the dagger from his grip.
