JK was about to rip open the next letter when he realised the one after this was thicker than the rest, bulging slightly. He prodded it, curious.

He almost opened the sixth letter, but stifled his curiosity, making a silent vow to read the letters in the right order. One after the other.

Maybe then he would find out why she stopped.

It was strange, how Juan Karlos felt about the fact that Addie had stopped writing to him. It could be any reason, really. She didn't have any time anymore, maybe. Or perhaps she simply forgot, like when you and your bestfriend move apart, promising to stay in touch yet you will always drift away, and one day you'll find a picture and think; I wish I had stayed in touch.

JK sighed, shaking his head and chuckling at himself. He ripped open the top of the fifth letter, not bothering to open it neatly.

Dear Juan Karlos,

I'm sorry I haven't written to you in so long. I've been kinda busy, but I'm here now, and I have a lot to tell you!

Well, to begin with.. Lisa is a fan of Darren. I swear to god, I nearly screamed when I walked into her room. Posters, bracelets, pens, pencil cases, everything.

I just stood there, my mouth hanging open, staring at it all. Then she looked at me sheepishly, and said;

"Yeah.. I'm a little bit of a fan."

I was speechless at first, and then I started laughing hysterically in he kind of way when you've given up.

So, we put the English homework aside. That will have to wait. We went a little crazy, making plastic dolls of you and Darren. We made hang gliders out of cardboard and pipe cleaners and chucking them out of the window, screaming;

"Fly Darren, fly!"

Juan Karlos laughed aloud, earning yet another strange look from Darlene. He quickly stifled the thought of a toy Darren doll being lobbed down the stairs. They were going to begin to think he was going mad if he constantly laughed at seemingly nothing.
