The Dream House Part Seventy Three

Tommy's POV (8:36AM)

I woke up the next morning and realized I had fell asleep in Wilbur's room. I looked at my phone screen for for the time, then read my notifications.

8:14AM [Dadza] : Hey, Ranboo's been discharged from the hospital and he's back home. Just thought I'd let u know :)
7:58AM tubbolive to Benchtrio GC: we need to talk.
7:40AM [Wilby <3] : There's a clean set of your clothes at the edge of the bed if you want to change/shower

Eyeing the corner of Wilbur's bed I slept in, I found a pale yellow sweatshirt I stole from Tristan's old cupboard along with plain black trousers and a blue towel. Wow, he really found the most 'Ghostbur' things I had. I prepared to walk to the bathroom until I felt a pillow underneath my feet... There was a pillow and a blanket on the floor.

"Did Wilbur sleep on the floor?" the thought floated in my head.

I made my way downstairs after a warm shower.

"-I'm not melodramatic, I'm just pragmatic beyond any-"

Following the sound of Wilbur's singing and the melody of his guitar, I got to the backyard.

"Will," I called.

"Tommy," He spoke and abruptly ending his guitar playing.

"Did you sleep on the floor last night?"

"Indeed, I did. Did you fall asleep on my bed?"

"Yes, it was very comfortable. Thanks."

He chuckled. "No problem. You look adorable in that shirt, Tommy, why haven't you worn this before?"

"Dunno, but it was my twin brother's."

"It fits you perfectly."

I sat by him while he continued tuning his guitar and playing songs from his album 'Your City Gave Me Asthma'.

"Okay, what's wrong?" He asked, after playing the last note of 'La Jolla'.

"Hm?" I mumbled.

"I spent too much time with Techno to know when something's wrong."

Trying to comprehend the sentence only confused me more.

"What's wrong with Techno?" I queried.

"No, I meant Techno would know when something's up with me. He'd say I look lost and that's how you look right now."

"What's wrong with you, then?"

"Stop changing the subject. You've been like this since last night, Tom. What's on your mind?'

"The thought of being a bad friend. A bad brother."

"Ah, so you let what Tubbo say get to you?"

I shrugged. "He hates me and I know that but I just don't want to lose him."

"This is just banter, Tommy. You guys live under the same roof and if not, you're still going to be under Phil's custody. A bad friend, sure, but never a bad brother. Just give Tubbo some time, I promise you he knows what he did was a bit too much."

"Did you just copy what Techno told you?"

"You and I have a lot in common."

"Tommy." Tubbo spoke, making me glance at him before looking back at Wilbur.

We joked about Tubbo never joining SBI but he was there way before Wilbur ever was. There's a lot to like about Tubbo when he's your friend. I kind of forgot he and I are brothers because I've always seen him as my best friend...until yesterday.

"Can we talk?" He asked, but I kept my eye contact with Will.

He nudged me to speak to Tubbo, and so I listened. I got up and walked behind Tubbo, he took me to my room and held the door open.

Ranboo was sat on my bed, using his phone before his light coloured eyes spotted mine. I quickly ran over to give him a hug but made sure I didn't hurt him.

"I'm so glad you're okay." I said.

"I'm sorry for being stupid." Ranboo replied.

"Don't apologize. I know it was part my fault as well."

Tubbo closed my room door and sat on the ground in front of us. I eyed him before speaking.

"Why are you on the floor? Get up here, you idiot."

He smiled and sat in the middle of us. "Can we agree that all three of us were equally being stupid and that we're sorry?"

"Yes." Ranboo and I said.

"I've realized I don't actually want to die." Ranboo stated, gently sitting cross-legged on my bed.

"Thank god that occurred to you." I answered.

Tubbo chuckled. "You're using big words now, are you?"

"Well, it occurred to me I've never treated you like my brother...since you technically are. I'm sorry."

"First of all, Tommy, I never wanted you to treat me like my brother. We were friends since the orphanage and brothers or not, I want you to treat me the same way you did before."

I stayed quiet, letting Ranboo chime in.

"Brothers or not, you're both stuck with me."

"Yep." I smiled.

"Sounds like a good thing to agree on." Tubbo uttered.

The three of us laughed.

It seemed like everything was changing for the better...

Right?
