We gave Claire a ton of time to think. Ever since that Saturday, we asked Claire if she was done yet. "No!" Was her answer every time. So times had passed: next Saturday, next- next Saturday, next-next-next Saturday..... At least now it was another Saturday. Claire had not answer my text: "Are you done yet? I'm sure your answer would be no." And yes, I think she really is going to say no. Maybe she's just going to wait forever to answer our question, and I'm pretty sure her answer would be a big " NO!".
"Maggie!" William called me from the other side of the street. "William!" I yelled, and waved wildly. "I'm coming! Wait!" I nodded, and he crossed the street. "William! Don't cross the street yet!" I said since I saw the red light on the traffic light. He didn't hear me. He... Continued to cross. "Beeeeeeep!!!" The car honked! When I heard that I gasped. William!! He was lying in the middle of the street. "William!" Tears flew out my eyes. "William!! Can you hear me? William!!!" I called again and again. He replied faintly: " Maggie..... I'm alright. But just in case..... Take me to a hospital. Please....." He smiled, then fell into a deep sleep. "Somebody.... Call the ambulance!!!!" I shouted, and saw tons of people took out their phones to help William. The ambulance came, and I got on, with William on the bed, and me, crying silently.
Awhile later I felt the car stopped. We were at the hospital. "Is it him??" The doctor asked. "Yes," I said to him. He pushed the bed towards the inside of the emergency room. None of my favorite, and treasured people has gone in there. Now there's one. I cried. Hard and loud. The nurse came and gave me tissues but I didn't stop crying. What is going to happen to William? Will he come back, alive? My brain were puzzled. I called Claire and Alan thoughtlessly.
They rushed here, with me sitting on a seat outside the emergency room. "What do you mean, William had an accident?" Claire asked me while wiping my face(that's completely covered in tears) with tissues. Alan paced in front of us. I didn't want to say words, so I shut my mouth tightly. "Maggie! Answer me! What happened to William?" Claire shook me. "....." I opened my mouth, but no words came out. "He." I said one word, then another, and another. So I figured that for me to say words, I need to pause before I said anything. Alan and Claire just nodded and said, "Uh huh, uh huh." I explained for a long time until I paused again. It was a long pause. "We.. Were.. Suppose.. To... Discuss... Stuff... At.. The... Deserts.. Shop..." I stammered. "Uh huh....." Claire said, focusing on every detail I had said. "So, where's William? Is he in the emergency room?" Alan asked, not seemed to pay attention to what I said. "Of course he is, stupid." Claire bonked him on the head, and said. "That's what Maggie said before!" "Sorry." Alan smiled sheepishly. I smiled a little bit. They were getting along. "Excuse me, are you William Harver's family members?" A nurse came up to me, and asked.
"I'm... His sister!" I pretended. "What is it??" "His conditions are getting better. The doctor said its just a little scratch. Nothing serious!" The nurse said. "You must be worried sick! But anyways, he is okay, and you can go see him now." "Thank you!" Me, Claire, and Alan said at the same time, and dashed into the room. "Maggie... You're here." William smiled weakly. "Told you, it's nothing too serious. Could have been worse." "How dare you cross the streets without looking at the traffic light? How could you.... Make me worried....." I cried once again. "I'm okay, Maggie!" He sat up straight. I hugged him, tightly while Claire and Alan were watching us in envy. "I still need to be in the hospital. But I'm glad that someone is here to take care of me." William said. "Okay... Okay!!!!" I nodded happily, with tears still in my eye.
Finally, after four weeks, William is all healed. All this time I've been to the hospital, giving William notes to copy from and homework to do. I also made meals and stayed at there overnight on the weekends. Today was his day out. "Maggie!" William smiled brightly. "Also Claire, and Alan! Thank you for taking care of me while I was in the hospital." "You're welcome!" We all said at the same time. It's true! Claire and Alan have been getting shifts of taking care of William. Mostly it's me that goes to see him. Even though it's not my shift day, I always go. Then I noticed an aura of love around Alan and Claire. "Well, you guys sure look like a couple!" I teased. "Oh.. I'll let Claire explain." Claire stood up nice and tall, then announced the big news. "I've.. Decided that... Alan is GETTING BACK with me!!!" She exclaimed.
"OMG...!!" I said, jumping up and down while my happy tears were falling. "You cry too much, Maggie! Your eyes would be sore." William said, also hugging me. "All this time when you, Maggie, are caring for William, Alan asked me on a date. We went to the beach and had a great time! He also took me to "Madame's Palace" for our dinner." Claire smiled. "Oh yeah, isn't the school dance next week? We can go as a couple, Alan! You guys too." Claire said. "Well, now that we are a couple, and my soreness was gone, we are just in time for the school dance!!" William exclaimed. "Well said, William!" I said, playfully. We all laughed as we walked out of the hospital gate, and I hope we'll never come back again!
