CHAPTER FOUR

ᴡᴇᴇᴋ ᴏɴᴇ

TWO DOORS PARTED TO THE SIDES TO ALLOW ENTRY FOR OUR DEAR PROTAGONIST,

the smell of fresh produce filled her nose as the sound of wheels turning all throughout the blinding white store filled her ears. it had felt like such a long time since she had entered a store for groceries and she almost felt thankful to have the natural scent of lysol in the air.

taking a steps forward into the store, [name] immediately turned to grab a cart as her partner in crime and loving husband - katsuki, followed behind her. he quickly took the cart from her to which she shot him a thankful look, walking a few ways in front to check for items she needed.

katsuki grumbled when the shades he wore were slipping off with each step he took, feeling irritated at the heat his puffy red coat gave and hoped the air conditioning in the store would enter his jacket and cool him down.

his outfit was meant to be a disguise, a way for him to not get as much attention as he normally would - being the second best hero and all.

but his efforts were futile and in fact - proved the opposite. his outfit brought attention from every patron he passed. mothers cradled their children in fear and random elderly men shook their heads at his display.

katsuki remained ignorant however, tailing behind his wife obediently while [name] stopped at a cart full of carrots.

[name] held up two carrots; they both looked similar, there was nothing different. but for some reason, she was looking at the two with such an intense gaze - as if she was playing a word puzzle with the two orange vegetables.

"the hells wrong with them?" katsuki leaned over, chin resting on her shoulder while he joined her in investigating the item.

she squints her eyes at the carrots before going back in forth between the two, "dunno' they feel... different for some reason." katsuki lifted his shades and took another carrot from the shelf, it was another carrot identical to the two.

he held the carrot closer to the previous pair and squinted his own eyes. [name]'s attention was brought to the new carrot that her husband had taken. now there were three carrots being investigated - to a passerby's eye, all they could see were two grown-ass adults molesting carrots with their eyes.

katsuki hummed, he scratched his head and looked to his wife "lets buy all three" [name] turned to him; pursed her lips, looked to the three carrots then nodded. tossing all three into their cart and going on with their day.

now the two were in the frozen goods isle. katsuki skimmed over the various frozen desserts, comparing each to the goods his wife would make before waving them off.

'shes given me a sweet tooth.' he thought, eyes glancing over to his bubbly partner who was focused on gushing over a shelf of [favorite food], katsuki smirked - kissed his wife on the cheek before taking the item off the shelf and placing it into their cart.

the couple went throughout the store searching for various items they needed while also picking up random things they wanted for absolutely no reason. [that would probably just rot in a cabinet somewhere]

it had come to the point the basket had to be replaced with a cart and that shopping cart turned into two. katsuki gripped the handle of the first shopping cart, staring down at his wife with a burning gaze.

in her hand, [name] held a whole cake. specifically a dynamight themed birthday cake that was [favorite flavor].

"no."

[name] whined, making grabby hands at the cake and pouting childishly at her partner "but whyyyy???"

"we already have cake at home! you can literally make a better cake yourself!"

she continued to make whimpering sounds, while also fumbling with excuses "b-but, it's not the same-" she dramatically sobbed, wiping away her nonexistent tears while katsuki groaned. "babe we already bought too much, I'll get a cake later" katsuki took her hand gently in his and proceeded to pull both his wife and the cart she was holding over to the cashier.

all while [name] whined and pleaded for the cake thoughout the whole way.
