I quickly pulled on one of my many pairs of skinny jeans along with my bright red Fall Out Boy t-shirt, throwing my favorite My Chemical Romance hoodie over the top of it. I'd been in Baltimore for a few weeks now and I'd grown particularly close to Jack and all his friends, especially Alex. That's who I was going to see, Alex. He was my best friend I suppose you could say, he wanted to show me the lights or some crap outside in the dark, I hadn't particularly wanted to go but I didn't want to seem like a total lightweight and blow Alex off so I'd said yes.
"Alice your boyfriend is here." Droned Michael.
"He isn't my boyfriend dickhead, he already has a girlfriend." I muttered as I ran quickly downstairs to avoid Mom meeting Alex. I did not want that happening, she'd ruin everything.
"Hi." I said to Alex, closing the door as I stepped outside.
"Hey Ali." Alex grinned.
"Another nickname?" I sighed, Alex had a thing for making different nicknames for me such as shorty, Ali Wali and a few other idiotic things so I often called him Lex or Lexy to annoy him, or stupid things like faggot or buttwad.
"Yup. C'mon, I want you to see the lights!" Alex whined, tugging me down the streets.
"For gods sake Alex they're just lights." I moaned.
"No you don't understand! Ugh, come on we're almost there!" Alex complained, pushing me up the hill to where a large frangipani tree stood.
"Here." Alex said, pulling me down onto the soft grass beside me and pointing outwards.
I gasped, from the hill you could see all of Baltimore, the lights from all the building in an array of colors, many bright and rainbow because of all the Christmas lights people still hadn't taken down from last year. It was absolutely breathtaking.
"Not so boring now huh?" Alex asked cockily.
I shook my head, still amazed at the beauty of all the lights.
"So you like it?" Alex said, a cocky tone still evident in his voice.
"Shut up Faggot and look." I groaned, giving Alex a half-hearted whack.
"I am!" Alex protested, laying down on the soft grass.
"Whatever Dickhole." I giggled.
"Dickhole? That's all you've got?" Alex laughed.
"Don't be mean to my grammar. Yours isn't any better." I scolded him.
"Mine is so and you know it." Alex chortled.
"Shut up Butt-wad." I whined.
We lay for a few moments in silence before I sighed loudly.
"I don't wanna go to school." I moaned.
"Neither do I. At least you get to sit with Jack." Alex muttered.
"Huh? You don't sit with Jack?" I asked curiously.
"You're looking at head of the football team, cheerleader girlfriend and all else that comes with it. I'm expected to sit at the 'popular' table and be a douchebag to everyone." Alex explained.
"Oh. That sucks.." I sighed.
"Yeah but if you want to sit with us always remember that on Wednesday we wear pink and you can only wear your hair in a pony tail one day a week, I guess you chose today." Alex said, gesturing to my hair that I had carelessly tied back whilst quoting Mean Girls.
"Oh my god you've seen that movie?!" I squealed.
"Sure have." Alex hummed.
"Oh my god." I giggled.
