Saturday. Saturday was my escape. My hope. I look back on Saturdays very fondly, but this one was horrid. I was walking down the street where I lived, Boyds Corner. I had one ear bud in, the other dangling over my Black Veil Brides shirt. I was listening to 'King for a Day' by Pierce the Veil, silently wishing I could be living like a king, or a queen for that matter.
"Hey, it's the freaky chick! What are those straps on you pants for? So you can hang yourself?" The boy called from across the street. He stood in the opening of a darkened alleyway. I ducked my head down and peered out from under a shield of thick black hair. "What, no comeback? Let's see if you have a comeback for this!" The boy sprinted across the street. A horde of boys emptied out of the alleyway. Their fist pounded me until I was on the ground. My blood was all over them.
"Stop it! Get off of her! Leave her alone! What did she ever do to you?" A man's voice called from somewhere behind me. The boys stopped hitting me, looked up at the man, and ran away. I heard footsteps approach where I was lying on the ground. Hot tears hit my arm.
"Oh my God. Are you okay? Dear Lord, those boys are evil. Can you hear me?" I tried to speak, but the only thing that came out was blood. I could only feel the growing pain. I manage to shake my head. I was not okay.
"911, what is your emergency?" A voice said. The man had dialed 911.
"I'm at 218 Boyds Corner. I have a girl here who was attacked by a group of boys. She's bleeding out and coughing up blood. We need an ambulance now!"
"Okay, sir, I'm going to need you to calm down. Do you know her name?"
"No, I don't. I just watched her-"
Through waves of blood coming out of my mouth, I managed to mutter my name. "Winter Johnson."
"Her name is Winter. Winter Johnson."
"What is your name sir?" The operator asked.
"My name is Christian Mora."
Christian Coma was standing over me. Christian Coma was trying to save me. "What's going on?" A voice called from the building Christian had emerged from, a popular place for bands to hide out in for rehearsal.
"Ash, we have a problem." Great, now Ashley Purdy was here. I was so scared, so happy, so frustrated, that I could have screamed. But all I could think was Please don't notice my scars.
I could feel two sets of hands rolling me on my back and holding me up so I wouldn't choke on the blood still coming out of my mouth.
The last thing I saw was Christian Coma's eyes. I noticed they were the same dark brown as my eyes. He had a look of pure fear on his face. "You're going to be okay," He told me. I heard the sirens in the distance, then I was unconscious.
