I couldn't sleep, not because I was uncomfortable but because I was nervous about moving around too much and waking him. I just closed my eyes listening to his comforting breathing and feeling his chest go up and down as he breathed. I didn't know what time it was but it was very late.

While I was pretending to sleep I felt his presence leave my side. Maybe he was just using the restroom or something. I waited around 30 minutes before turning over on the bed just to see that he wasn't in the room at all. I went out of his room and to the restroom that I had previously used, just to check up on him.

Nowhere. It was like he vanished I went to the kitchen and he wasn't there either. This kinda freaked me out but it boosted my curiosity.

"Bruce?" I said loudly looking in every direction with no response.

Where had he gone. I don't think he is in the house and I didn't know why he would go out in the middle of the night. I realised something, news cameras always followed him around so maybe checking those channels was my best course of action.

I headed back to his room, grabbed the remote to his TV and turned it on. I flipped to the news channel just to see batman out and about fighting. I saw helicopters swarming the area with flashing lights all over the TV.

Batman had been attacking some of the Penguins men. I was intrigued by this until I realised this fighting was happening right outside my apartment. Shit I thought as I ran outside of his house. I needed to borrow one of Bruce's cars if I could get there on time.

My apartment had pictures of my family before they passed away. I wrote a letter and placed it on his bed. It said:

Bruce -                                                                                                                         This y/n I need to borrow one of your cars I promise to return it with no scratches I just need to grab some stuff from my apartment.

I found his car key and rushed into his garage. Before running to the fancy looking car something caught my eye. It was a layout of something that looked like a weapon or a gadget of some sort. I didn't know why he would have that but oh well

It took me a while to figure out what key went to which vehicle. Thoughts were racing through my head wondering if my apartment was going to get destroyed and why Penguin's men were outside my apartment again.

I stuck the key in and turned it listening to the noise of his engine revving. I wonder if he also went to see the battle between Batman and the others. I sped off and pulled up a block away from my neighborhood so his car wouldn't get shot at. This was extremely dangerous but those photos of my family were the last memories I had of them.

I got out of the car and ran a block until I saw a bunch of bright lights and the mysterious, ominous, Batman fighting. While running I stopped, I didn't have a plan for how I was going to get into my apartment and grab all my precious pictures.

The plan is to run as fast as I can and go behind my apartment to go through the fire exit. Now I had to figure out how to break down the door and run inside. This was a lot of work just to get my photos but I think it would be worth it after all I didn't know if my building would get destroyed.

While thinking I heard my name so I shot my head in the direction and saw the Penguin's henchmen. I leaned in closely to hear what they were talking about to Batman. "Why would they be talking about me?"

"Yeah, that bitch y/n I remember you saving her and you killed three of my men in the process." One of the men spoke. "Calling yourself justice! You have no clue what her parents have done!"

Wanting to hear more I subtly scooted closer. Realising I could get questioned by the police for being too close to the crime scene. I decided to run to the back of my apartment. I could still hear just not as good but the sound that nearly covered up their talking was the helicopters. I sighed trying to hear why they brought up my family.

"That bitch doesn't need to be saved, she needs to be brought to Penguin. Just hand her over, we have her apartment number, we know she's in there." A different man spoke.

In a flash I saw both men get knocked to the ground already being tied up by Batman. It was unbelievable how fast he was. I knew I had to ask Batman some questions about why they brought me up and if he really was the one that saved me on that traumatic night.

I found an empty fire extinguisher and brought it to the back door, smashing it open. Kinda funny how I'm breaking into my apartment with the Batman around 30 meters (about 100 feet) away from me. Now with the door open I ran into my apartment and grabbed all my stuff.

Something was wrong with my apartment. The door was already unlocked and my chair was missing. After I grabbed the photos I turned around and saw a random ass person. He picked up my missing chair and bashed it into my head.

Everything around felt like it was spinning and everything was becoming darker. A thought passed through my head "Why did this shit always happen to me." Darkness had finally struck I laid on my floor of the apartment, passed out.
