Sue-Anne's view

Although I wanted to be alone, I was secretly glad for Garvan's company. If he had not come when he did, I would have been in a lot of trouble. I may have even been eaten by wild animals, my bones left to bleach in the sun, my husbands and children unable to find me. I wouldn't have been so silly as to go that far though, I am pretty sure Caspian could have come to me if I called him, since he is my husband who can teleport. I don't think I would have enjoyed his lectures though. I could just imagine them: -

"Sue, what have you done? You - silly woman, now you are hurt. You should have taken at least one of us with you. You know it is dangerous in the wild!" all said with a frown cross angry scowl cross loving look on his face.

I rolled over and groaned, "How embarrassing would that be? I know he means well, but Caspian has a tendency to make me feel like a little child, even though we are married..."

The midday sun was shining through the leaves, and I opened my eyes then and looked around in alarm. Garvan was nowhere to be seen. I panicked and opened my link to him up.

"Garvan! Where are you?" I practically yelled down the link, causing him to miss his shot.

"I went hunting. Damn it, I missed my shot," he replied. I don't think I was meant to hear the last bit; I think he forgot he was still talking to me as he continued to vent his annoyance at missing the shot with some very colourful words.

"Garvan?"

"What?" he snapped, before replying more contritely and kindly, "I am sorry, I should not have snapped at you just now. You did not do anything wrong. What is it? Do you need me to come back?"

"No," I replied, "It's alright, I was just worried what happened to you as I could not see nor hear you anywhere."

"Missing me, are you?" he gently teased.

I did not answer right away while I thought about it. Was I missing him? Or was it just I was feeling vulnerable? I don't know. I then thought about him as a person, He undoubtedly was sweet, kind and well built.

"I see," he replied to my lack of response, sounding hurt.

"I am sorry," I apologised, "I wanted to give you a genuine answer not an automatic reply. I don't know if I am or not. Don't get me wrong, I love you, but I am burnt out. It's why I went away by myself. I do not know who I am anymore, I wanted to find out without pressure."

I could feel Garvan smiling, "Fair enough, I will take your love for me, even if you are not missing me." I could only feel relief at his words. "Anyway, I have to concentrate if you want any meat today. I left you some dried fruit and berries there with a sword to defend yourself" he said and he then blocked me off before I could even say "Thank you".

I ate the fruit as I was starting to become hungry and my queezy stomach had settled down somewhat. I decided to get up and go inside as I had enough of being outside, inside I had mending to do that I had been putting off, preferring instead to do the chores that Garvan had been doing. Let's just say, this decision was not my best one.

I almost collapsed again from the pain in my foot  - so I decided to hop. I misjudged the ground and ended up cutting my hopping foot up as I had no shoes on. I lay on my bed and cried. I refused to disturb Garvan again so I cried myself to sleep blood soaking the bedding as I could not even bend to clean up my mess. Garvan came home to this from a very successful hunt.

"Sue!" he panicked his hand running up and down me in panic, "Are you alive? What should I do?"

"I am alive," I replied, "Can you please clean my foot up? I am afraid I made a mess of it coming in."

He nodded and got a bowl of fresh water and began cleaning my foot from the gravel embedded in my foot. Once again, he licked my foot to heal it when it was clean, "Try not to hurt your feet again please." he said with a pained expression, "I do not mind a lot of things but I just can't bring myself to like licking feet. I would rather somewhere else..."

I suspected he meant my groin as he glanced at it triggering a primal response in me. He must have known as he gave an ironic grin and turned to clean up the mess he had made, "I'll make us dinner."

In that moment, I reacted to the glance and said, "Wait Garvan!"

"Yes?" he turned back to me his languid eyes burning into mine.

"Would you..." I started before blushing, I could not finish that sentence, "Oh, Never mind, go get dinner."

Garvan leaned into my space putting his face barely an inch away from mine and looked deeply into my eyes. I could see his desire for me in them, "Are you sure?" he breathed in sync with me, "I can always put dinner on hold for an hour. You would be much more a delightful snack than the venison I am preparing for you."

I looked at his lips and then back into his eyes, leant forward and kissed him, before pulling back to reply, "I would rather wait until after dinner to eat and enjoy that meal slowly."

My response caused him to blush and hurriedly exit to the cooking area of the cave which was out of sight to the bed I was resting on. I leant back and relaxed, a smile gracing my face as I thought of how flustered he got in that instance. I wonder what I would have done if he had accepted my invitation? And then all I could think of was him making love to me and how much I wanted him to do just that.

Garvan returned sometime later with a bowl of venison stew freshly made. His clothes a little blood stained.

"What have you been doing?" I asked concerned about the blood stains.

"Nothing much," he replied, "Just gutting and skinning the animals I have caught. I have salted some of them to make them last longer and some I have put on for our dinner. But these bloodstains are from you, my dear."

"Me?" As I had fallen asleep, I had quite forgotten the mess I had made.

"Yes. Now can I move you so I can wash the bedding? There is no way you are sleeping on that mess tonight."

I nodded, wondering whatever happened to the desire we had shared moments before. Garvan picked me up and moved me to the bed he had been on the night before. It was surprisingly comfortable, and I fell back to sleep, my last memory was of Garvan walking out of the cave with an armful of bedding saying, "I will be back soon. Dinner is still an hour away."
