Glorifrir's view

Word came in that the Moore burrow had collapsed, and a chimera (an animal composed of genetically different materials) had been the cause.

While the chimera had slept, it appeared like stone. All the fancy stone heads were part of the chimera sleeping, and it had been asleep since the beginning of the fae.

No one knew this, however, and had used the heads as homes or entryways, as the natural stone had formed around the animal, which also had been tunnelled into. Miraculously the animal had been left intact except for one head which was damaged.

The chimera had seven heads in all. Each head had ten horns (a bit like a ten-horned triceratops) on them with ten crowns, the mouths on it were like a lion, and a rune was engraved into each forehead.

When the chimera left, its skin had changed from stone, and now it looked like a leopard with the feet of a bear. It was rumoured that as it walked, the ground was burnt to a crisp leaving the footprints permanently behind.

It went through the portal Susan, Elizabeth, and Sasha had arrived through hundreds of years ago. Those in the area wrote of that portal's destruction. There was nothing left but a burnt hole the size of the chimera.

Not long after that, Leonfrir and Sasha came to see me. I admit I was surprised, as we had not talked in years. Not since DebraLee had died, yes, we saw each other at the family gatherings, but we did not get the chance to speak. It was not that we did not get along or that we fought; instead, our time was taken up differently now.

Leonfrir's view

I had expected Glorifrir, the true king of the dwarves, to die when his wife DebraLee died, as he was like me, suffering from qi burning. I waited fruitlessly to hear of his death, but it never came. After a time, I forgot about him and concentrated on Sasha and our two children, raising the best we knew how together. We saw them married early for the fae, and shortly afterward, we had grandchildren to dote on.

I never felt like a grandfather, though, each day seeming better than the last as I lived and loved Sasha. I never felt the effects of Qi burning again as I was always with Sasha. I felt our lives were a blessing.

I heard Glory left the burrow when DebraLee died, and he returned sixty years later. I did not hear where he had gone, but he had immersed himself in books and learning after that earning himself the title of Sage.

About 150 years after the death of DebraLee, I was introduced to Susan's great-great-grandchildren, SueAnne, and Kell, by Garvan. However, it did not seem she was paying attention. I forgot about it for a week when Glorifrir called our entire living family to meet his new wife. To my surprise, it was SueAnne.

We did not get to talk as he was too busy introducing the family. I did not have the opportunity to speak with him again, but I saw him talking with three men outside the dwarven burrow some years later. I was going to go over, but it was like a hand slammed into me from the sky, as every mistake I ever made was flashed before my eyes; by the time I had recovered, Glory and the men were gone.

I hurried away then as I was running a chore for Sasha, and I was pretty behind time being incapacitated like that. I forgot about seeing Glory for a while; it was only when strange things started happening in the fae I, with Sasha, went to see him as I believed he would have the answers.

"Shall we go see Glorifrir, Sasha?" I asked my beloved wife.

"Sure, if you think he would have the answers to why these disasters are happening," Sasha agreed.

"Let's go then," I said, preparing to head out the door, "If anyone is to know what is happening, he will."

Sasha nodded and followed my example. We found Glorifrir in the library.

"Hi, Glory," I greeted him with a hug.

"Hi Leo," and when he saw Sasha with me, he added, "and Sasha. To what do I owe this pleasure?"

"We were hoping that you could tell us what was happening," I indicated to Sasha as I said this.

"What do you mean?"

"Do you know why bad things are happening in the fae?" as I watched Glorifrir's face go through a myriad of expressions.

"I can guess why," he finally spoke, "But I am not sure as there are no prophecies regarding this. Only what Garvan told me."

"What did Garvan say?" Sasha asked.

"Garvan said Gee said the fae would be destroyed, that Tannin and Jezebel would leave the fae after Jezebel laid her egg, and Sue would look like a full drow," Glory said. "When I met Gee, he transformed Jezebel into human form and said when she transformed back, her appearance would change. He said that she would take four years to lay an egg with Tannin and the fae would start slowly dying when they left. So, I am guessing by that he means the rest of the fae uninjured by the dragon and chimera that have left."

"So, Jezebel is human now?" asked Sasha, "How big did she grow as a dragon? I remember the cute little dragon from the wedding banquet you threw to introduce us to her."

"She was as big as Tannin when she transformed, but her human form was smaller than Tannin by a head," Glory described the situation.

"How pretty was she?" I asked, curious.

"So pretty, even I had trouble resisting her," Glory admitted, "They went into isolation as she did not want to be with anyone else but Tannin. I cannot help but wonder how Tannin will fare as someone said he would be expected to make love consistently for four years to form the baby dragon's egg."

"I can see your concern. Having sex for that long a period can twist even the fae into sex-crazed monsters, and on top of that, from what you said, they are going to the human world..." I mused, "So Garvan said the fae would die?"

"Yes," Glorifrir nodded, "He said that was what Gee said."

"Who is Gee?" Sasha asked, curious, I guess.

"He said he was the God of God's son," Glory explained, "When I saw him, it was like my sins came crashing down on me, and I could not move until he forgave me. He was with two others, Israfel and Azrael."

Sasha turned white, "Are you sure? Are you sure that was the names of the people he was with?"

"Who? Azreal and Israfel?" Glory asked, earning himself a nod from Sasha.

"Yes, that was their names. Why?"

"They are the names of Angels of death and apocalypse. And you said the person you talked to was called Gee, and he was the son of the God of Gods?"

Again, Glory nodded yes.

"I wonder if Gee is short for Jesus, and if that is the case, my whole life has been a joke," Sasha said, sitting down in horror.

"I do not think that," I consoled my wife, "Why would you even think that?"

"Because I am a druid, I did not believe in the Christian faith at all, and here you are saying this person called Gee came here with those people and said the fae would be destroyed! That means the Christian faith is true!" Sasha exclaimed, "I am sorry, Glory, I have to go." and she hurried away.

"I am sorry, Glory; perhaps we can get together another day. I need to follow Sasha," and I left, hurrying after her.

Sasha and I talked it out, what had happened in the fae, and what Glory had told us, and we told our children too. We all decided to follow the God of Gods and suffered the next three days before dying.

I wrote a note to someone, anyone, to let them know what we had chosen and why. Just in case someone missed us, it turned out our children did and they chose to follow us too.
